| GOLDEN AGE BLACK CANARY

The original Black Canary made her first appearance in 1947, Flash Comics #86. She would fight crime straight through the Silver Age until she was retconned, and history "fixed" as she was split into two different people, a mother and daughter. OI!
Notes: Not much done here that I didn't do in the first two. The jacket and uni is made up of several alternating layers. Essentially The base color which carried the shading, overlayed with a desaturated copy of the base, this layer also has the texture. Bit of a pain but I think it worked out. Eyes and make up were colored in and then blended.
The motor cycle is a 1942 Army model, Harley Davidson. The paint job was done by hand by first desaturating the pic and then painting on another layer and then applying a blend.
The only question now is do I just top this off with the Horrid BC uniform???? Maybe a series! The worst hero costumes EVAH!!!

| Smackdown 3: Ystina, Shining Knight

Born some 10,000 years ago, Ystina (or Justina) was a knight in a long-forgotten court who ended up in the 21st century after literally falling through time. After fighting off supervillains during the Crisis in Metropolis and trying to kill Gloriana Tenebrae during the Harrowing in Manhatten, Justina enrolled in a private school, intending to have some semblance of a normal life, but not long after was sighted among the many heroes who fought against Black Adam during "World War III".
Justina possesses no innate superhuman abilities, but is skilled in the use of swords and has demonstrated remarkable adaptability to unfamiliar situations. Also, she has a flying, talking horse, Vanguard.
With this image, I wanted to spice SK up a little, so I went with a sort of Goth latex slut motif. I'm not sure if this is the final color scheme I'm going to use, but I'm very pleased with how this image came out. I'll post a list of materials later in case someone's interested...
EDIT: Probably should have mentioned that Shining Knight Justina is not my own creation - she was created by Grant Morrison and Simone Bianchi. |

To tell you the truth, I never read the Blackhawk comic (always been a '4 color' comics fan, not WW2 comics).

An installment in an unintentional series of Quality Comic's characters I started last year.
Joan Dale (later Trevor) is visited by the spirit of the Statue of Liberty and given the task to fight crime and the enemies of the USA.
Later, after the DC buyout of Quality, Joan would be retconned into the JSA's secretary and would then assume the mantle of Miss America. She would later join Earth II's All Star Squadron and Earth X's Freedom Fighters.
Note: Posted the original back in December 2007. Before posting it here it needed a bit of updating. Essentially I cleaned up the lines, fixed the stripes, and added textures to the costume as a whole. After seeing the "Duel" pic below it inspired me to go back and fix her up.
As always be honest, and have at her.

| The Hulk: Hi all, just finished this Image. It goes out to a buddy of mine, Blackbirdi who has supplied this Game model. It took the whole weekend to rigg and trust me its not easy to do soft-body with a low poly model, and played with the mapps alittle. All rendered and posed in Max/ Worked with a few techs and filter work and Cololr ajust CS2. I Hope you all like, CHEERs. |

These are my five personal favorite X-Men. There's actually more manip to this than 3D, but the base image was posed in Poser and textured and rendered in Lightwave. An exceedingly difficult piece for several reasons. For one thing, I discovered my computer's limits, as I could not even LOAD all the figures at once in Lightwave. I had to render the left half with Kitty, Colossus, and Cyclops first. Then, using the same camera angle and lighting, I rendered a second image with the right half of the image containing Wolverine and Phoenix. Psylocke was in there too, next to Jean, but since the pixel count for v4 is higher than the v3 and m3 figures, I couldn't load her in with them.
After the right half was rendered, I had to combine the two images in Photoshop "Parent Trap" style. After that, it was simply a matter of choosing which costumes to use and painting them on.
This image took me four days to complete, so I hope you guys like it. |

This is about 75% of what Im working towards, Small steps due to the amount of work it takes with every level. All rendered in 3D Max, Lighting and enviro set-up/ Filter and color ajust CS2.
