O.k I coloured this like I said I would, It took me a best part of a day (Groan!) I went for the smooth anime Cel style, Gonna do a reander version too.
What took the time was cleaning up the lines cause I'm seriously demented when it comes to smooth lines, ended up with a vector style drawing would have been quicker to do in illustrator.

update:O.k here I am again (argghh!)
Third time lucky.
The original background was much better,it took ages then photoshop crashed, THIS IS JUST A TRIBUTE!

Connected to the Negative, the web that connects all human suffering, Syd Lennox had a miserable life until one fateful night when she was granted the ability to see and touch the suffering. The Negative, it turns out, is an untapped wellspring of energy, and she now siphons that energy to become Virago, a vigilante dedicated to stopping corruption and terrorism and anything else that feeds the Negative. Of course, it remains unseen what destroying this web will ultimately do to the natural order, but at the moment that is not Virago's main concern...

Virago is basically the character previously known as Dire, albeit with more mystical origins and powers. "Virago" is defined in my dictionary as a either a loud and overbearing woman or a strong and brave one, so I thought it kinda fits. There's a little of both definitions in this particular Virago - on the one hand, she's protecting people and doing other good works, but on the other end, her powers are fueled by human suffering... |

Funny, I never got into this character much. As MissVee says, there isn't enough Spandex. However I find you can have a lot of fun with Shulky, which I suppose explains her popularity.

| Well I did this piece today (3/29/07) for a friend's birthday that's comin' up in April . . . he's into the whole Gatchaman thing and growin' up in the 70's I used to love watchin' G-Force as well, so I thought it'd be fun to do . . . . so I got a couple (Pantone?) markers together and a 6"x6" piece of Bristol paper and got busy!!! | I was over at a friends house last night having a drawing session and started to think about the books I used to read...... next thing that happened, I was drawing the Maxx. Inked it this morning, colored in Photoshop, created his little perch in Photoshop too. The background is something I airbrushed up while practicing making clouds. |
