Short answer is I wanted the five to have a slightly more "sinister" appearance, even though they were all still good guys in this timeline. Dark Phoenix was the best outfit choice for her, but I lost the TV version's black collar 'cuz it was too dark for the scene. Same for the poses and expressions for all of them, I wanted to tie in a more serious feel for the piece, while still keeping as true to the era as possible. Kinda a conglomeration of memories from the TV series in its entirety.

And that's the short answer...

PS...always liked this Archangel, too.

That version of Archangel was my favorite. Why did you choose to put Phoenix in her classic garb and the others in more modern versions? if I may ask.
