This is Kate Bishop, aka the awesome new girl Hawkeye from Marvel's excellent (if oft-delayed) Young Avengers series. I found some excellent archery stock photos by Kxhara on deviantART (http://kxhara.deviantart.com/) and decided I had to do something with 'em.

i like the pose and how it blends with the background, the only thing that seems odd it's the size and perspective of the arrows in her back, other than that it's great!

It's a manip, not a render. Does this really look like a completely 3D thing? Though I guess I should be flattered if it fools people.

And... yes, you're right, the shadows are too solid. Dammit. I can't believe I didn't see that! Yet another reason I shouldn't get lazy with the background... I'll do even better next time, I swear.

Nice rendering B. Only thing bugging me is that in shadow on a figure there is always a little dim light at the edge of the shadow. It creates a round look and shadow on a person or object does not go right to the edge like that....I don't know how else to say that. BUT Very good rendering otherwise. Great diagonal focus from the moon to the tip of her foot, guides the eye very nicely.

Just wanted to help you get even better

Always a pleasure to see something new from you. And if you seriously want me to nitpick. It seems too dark. MOAR highlights! Maybe some street lights are reflecting 'n shit.

I'm not familiar with the character, but your work on her is cool... as cool as you do. The composition is strong, but some of the textures on the 3d element could have used a little PS TLC. Overall I'd say it has a good beat, and is fun to dance to. I am really stoked to see a new fully original image out of you.

Meh... how bad you want me to tear into this?

I kid, I kid... nicely done B. I do see some flaws, but they're minor and not worth mentioning.

Thanks, guys.

Paul, they're sharing the name. Clint dropped the Ronin handle after Dark Reign, iirc. I believe Kate's supposed to be co-starring in his current Hawkeye ongoing. This is a photomanipulation, btw, not a render; the only 3d element is the rooftop.

I don't read Young Avengers, but I do like the look of this character and this is a sweet render of her. Are she and Clint Barton sharing the name Hawkeye now or is he still going by Ronin?

 Re: Kate Bishop: Hawkeye
Your usual crisp attention to detail really bears a lot of close looking at, like those reflections on the bow. Still, it's the great pose and mood and the way all of it pulls together into a single sharp focus that gives it such power. Great job! BTW, looks like render missed a shadow on that little thingy popping out of the rooftop to the left of her.
