I figured this one would be an easy one to do and it was but once again, I feel like I've left out more than I've included! A couple of crossover artists here: Eisner started Spirit in the newspapers and later went to comics while Gil Kane started in comics before doing Star Hawks. Some of these others were big influences on some great comic artists, like Raymond's influence on Al Williamson, Foster's on Frank Frazetta and Caniff's on Jim Aparo.

But he did recognize Popeye.

As for me, I loved these. The Sunday Funnies were as big an influence n me as Saturday mornin' cartoons.

Excellent idea!

Hahaha! Great story! As if I wasn't feeling old enough already!
Thanks! Yeah, those Sunday funnies were something I always looked forward to as a kid as well. :) I'm glad you're old enough to get it anyway!

Well done! Amazing idea for a layout for this challenge.
You hit on a few of my influences over the years as well.

Thanks Magnusch!
That's cool! I always enjoy your work and suspected that we probably shared some of the same influences. Thanks for confirming it.

Great idea and way to present an Influence map.
I didn't know that StarHawks was a newspaper comic.
I have 2 books from them and I believe that was all that was published here at the time.
I always thought they were published originally as comics like the other books I bought from the same publisher like Conan from Windsor-Smith.
What do they say? Living and learning.

Thanks bud. Just glad I could help with the teachin' and the preachin'.
