With Superman out of town, the local thugs thought they could 'make hay whilst the sun shines'.
In a deserted alleyway in downtown Metropolis, as a terrified victim pleads for her life, a solitary figure silently descends into the light.
Catching a glimpse of movement from the corner of his eye, one of the muggers looks up, all words instantly choking in his throat. Grasping his partner in crimes arm, he tries to warn him, but his colleague is far too engrossed in the woman before him.......and ignores his partner.
He never knew what hit him........... |

Batgirl's head swam - she could hear music, yet it made no sense. She recognised the song, but somehow the lyrics were......different. The Boomtown Rats blasted her senses, but the chorus was all wrong...."It's a Bat Trap, and you've been caught....".
Harley: "Ohh, Mr J, she's waking up"
Joker: "Finally.....wakey wakey Batsie....you nearly missed the big finale"!
Harley: "Can we just do it now puddin' "?
Joker: "Harley, Harley, Harley...that's what I like about you....your.....enthusiasm. But no, we have to wait. The Bat still has 5 minutes to show up before the deadline. Of course, if he doesn't show, then......".
Harley: "Ohh...Mr J......you're the best".
Catwoman: "I think I'm gonna be sick. Why you couldn't leave me alone with Batgirl for half an hour I'll never know".
Joker: "Ahhh, Kitty....I'd forgotten you were there. And it's simple really......we need her alive........for now. But, look on the bright side, if he shows you get to sink your claws into him, if not....well, Batgirl's not going anywhere fast".
Catwoman: Mmmmmmmmmm.......that sounds......... deliciously...... purrrrfect".
Harley: "Ohh Mr J, you promised her to me....".
Joker: "Now now Harley...you have to learn to share. And one last thing.....if you really want to be taken seriously, then I suggest using a proper knife, and not a plastic one from the cafeteria".
Harley: "Mr J"!!!
Batgirl: "Uhhmm....mmpgghh"

With Diana seemingly imprisoned by Ares, and Themyscira almost overrun, Artemis taking up the mantle of Wonder Woman leads the remnants of The Amazon Army to the secreted caves in the mountains of Northern Themyscira, to regroup and plan their counter attack.
She sends her most faithful and beloved pet Peraclese to locate the enemy patrols??.

Harley stares vacantly in to space, a smile permanently etched on her face.
Although the plan had been foiled, and she was now back within the confining walls of the Asylum, nothing phased her. Her brain wouldn't let it!
To Harley, she hadn't been defeated, quite the oppsite; She had defeated not only Wonder Woman and Batgirl, but taken down that backstabbing Catwoman.
She continued to gaze vacantly before her, softly humming an old nursery rhyme, not even noticing the constraints of the jacket around her.

When Green Arrow had asked Black Canary out on a date, she had assumed they'd go clubbing, or to a movie, a restaurant maybe.......even just a couple of drinks!!
What she didn't expect was to be stuck out all evening in the Lower East side of Town, whilst Arrow methodically scanned every last centimetre of ground, trying to glean some incriminating evidence against the local drug cartel.
Looks like it's going to take Green Arrow a lot of 'making up' to get this Canary singing a happy song again!!!

Part 2 - Delivered
A helplessly cocooned 'Wonder Woman' is presented, by her 'Clone' captor, before the real brains of the insidious plot.
Deep beneath Lex Corp, Luthor and Mercy admire their new acquisition.
?Well Mercy, it seems that not only was my judgement in the Toymaker correct, but we have confirmed the durability of the new Lex Corp Tape. Superman himself would struggle to escape from its confining grasp! But now for the coup-de-grace??to substitute Wonder Woman with her clone, so she can learn everything there is to know about The Watchtower, and to finally bring down The Justice League?.
?Yes Mr Luthor??a fine plan indeed?.
?Now Mercy?be a dear, and place our guest in safe storage would you. I need to go over the fine details with the clone. I don?t want there to be any slip ups?..this time, nothing and no-one will stop me?! |

Part 3 - Retribution
Luthor had laid out his plans in detail to the clone, how she would replace Wonder Woman, and infiltrate the Watchtower, and hence glean invaluable information for Lex and his newly formed consortium, The Injustice League.
Never had one man been so confident?? so sure of victory. Luthor could taste it.
Seconds later, the only thing he could taste, apart from his own blood, was Wonder Woman?s fists, solidly connecting with his face, his jaw breaking almost instantaneously, his body slumping violently back in to his chair, his world gradually growing blurred.
*Wonder Woman knew her chance would come?.at some stage they would have to remove the lasso from around her wrists?and when that moment came??..
She had felt no remorse as she cocooned the clone in the same wrapping she had been destined for. This was, after all, not living tissue, but a machine. It couldn?t feel pain, sorrow, love or any human emotion.
And when the Toymaker had returned, she played her part to perfection!*
The Amazon Princess now stood before another of her would-be captors, concern etched on her face. Despite everything he had tried to do to her, (the plan had been his idea after all) her main concern was for the man beaten by her own hands, and now slumped before her. As she looked upon him, she couldn't bring herself to feel elated at her victory, just sorrow that it had had to come to this..
Look out Wondie??don?t spend too much time fretting about Luthor?.Mercy is still in this game!!! |

Believing that by enlisting the help of Ivy and Harley, she could take down Wonder Woman was Cheetah's first mistake.
Her second was, in the process, she really pissed off the Amazon Princess!
And her third, and by far the worst mistake was....Despite the 'I'll be seeing you soon enough' look Wonder Woman gave her before beating the snot out of Ivy and Harley, she actually remained around for the outcome!
That's a bad move Cheetah......a really bad move! |
