| Whatta Couple 'o Cards! blubeetle3 DC Comics 2009/3/5 18:53 2524 3
I know! I know! I'm no colorist. But, when I saw this scan of art by the great Kevin Maguire, I couldn't help myself.
...And then I realized that the difference between five-year old me and current me is that my crayon box is more advanced now! |

| WHA-tchmen? blubeetle3 DC Comics 2011/11/12 19:26 2810 4
Okay. Let's clear this up: Blue Beetle is NOT A DIRECT INSPIRATION for Nite-Owl. So, just because Nite-Owl has... shall we say... intamacy issues, doesn't mean Beetle does, too!
GOT IT?
P.S. How do you like the new Phantom Lady character? |
|
| Welcome to the BLINKYVERSE! blubeetle3 DC Comics 2007/4/7 10:14 3439 5
Here's the story: Blinky at blinky-productions.com (go see his short movies NOW!) commissioned me to do Poser models of himself (Blue Beetle) and the actress he has playing Power Girl, Tawnya Mannion. |
|
| They were... FORMERLY KNOWN AS THE JUSTICE LEAGUE! blubeetle3 DC Comics 2005/7/4 8:59 5046 17
Recreating a comic cover, even one without a background, is never easy to do. The fact that there are seven characters in the picture doesn't make it easier.
But, all in all, I think it came out well. What do you think? |
|
| The NEW Time Masters blubeetle3 DC Comics 2009/4/9 19:28 2394 3
Booster Gold accompanied by his twin sister Michelle a.k.a. Goldstar and his ever faithful robotic companion Skeets patrols the time stream looking for trouble.
Updated Booster's new look. Created Goldstar. And downloaded the Time Sphere and Skeets.
P.S. Skeets is Dave Chappelle's favorite comicbook character. SKEETS! SKEETS! SKEETS! |
|
| The Last Rose of Winter blubeetle3 DC Comics 2005/3/20 10:29 4254 8
To celebrate the first day of Spring, Ice (from the JLI) says good-bye to Winter. |

| The Evil Mirror Universe BLUE BEETLE blubeetle3 DC Comics 2006/12/29 20:10 2632 6
Not just Blue Beetle in his uniform from I Can't Believe It's Not the Justice League. No, no. This is the evil Mirror Universe Blue Beetle.
If you read the story, the "Super Buddies" wind up on an alternate Earth after leaving Hell (Don't ask!). This Earth had evil dopplegangers of some of the heroes (including a dominatrix Mary Marvel! Hotcha!). At one point Mirror Sue Dibny asked Mirror Max Lord why our Beetle was "wearing Teddy's costume". So, although we never got to see the Mirror Blue Beetle, we know he exists, he wears the black costume, and he doesn't look like our Ted Kord.
So how could I make him look different?
See the van dyke? That's a dead giveaway he's EVIL! (basic STAR TREK 101) |
|
| The Blue Beetle: Ready for Action! blubeetle3 DC Comics 2005/9/3 15:43 3896 13
Yes, I'm back with a vengeance. This is the very first character I created with Poser 5 (hmm...I wonder why?). The Blue Beetle- adventurer, super-genius, beloved by women everywhere (o.k. I'm pushing it with that last one)! Steve Ditko's greatest creation! Yeah, that's right, Spidey! DITKO'S GREATEST CREATION! |
|
| The Black Beetle and Tiffany blubeetle3 DC Comics 2011/1/15 18:26 2376 1
An altenate dimension's BLUE BEETLE, the BLACK BEETLE is bad-ass. How bad-ass? He lets his cohorts call him "Teddy"! THAT'S BAD-ASS! I once described him by saying, "He's smarter than you. You know he's smarter than you. And he knows he's smarter than you!" Now, his favorite stripper/prostitute is hotter than yours! TIFFANY, that dimension's version of ICE is accompanying him.
These characters are "Version 2"s of characters that I have done earlier. |
|
| The Big Three - CHARLTON STYLE! blubeetle3 DC Comics 2008/6/14 15:47 2453 5
Charlton Comics had a lot of "Action Heroes", but, these three are the best known: Captain Atom, Blue Beetle, and the Question. In 1984, DC Comics bought most of Charlton's characters and incorporated them into their line after "Crisis on Infinite Earths".
Sad to realize that all three of these characters are now considered "dead" by DC. |
|
| The Big Switcheroo: Knowing the Rules blubeetle3 DC Comics 2011/6/3 18:48 2854 3
Fire informs the feminized Blue Beetle of some of the rules of being a woman. Ted still doesn't get them! |
|
| THE BIG SWITCHEROO!: "Making the GOLD STANDARD" blubeetle3 DC Comics 2006/8/8 5:15 3720 6
Booster Gold's a hound. There's no way around that. Booster can't help himself. He's gotto check out every woman that's around.
...Even if it's his newly "feminized" best bud!
EDIT: Added a title to this series to seperate them from my other seies. |
|
| THE BIG SWITCHEROO!: "Looking, Looking..." blubeetle3 DC Comics 2006/8/8 5:24 3442 5
Apparently, Booster Gold has lost his Legion flight ring, and Blue Beetle is helping him try to find it. Or, at least, that's what Booster told Beetle. |
|
| THE BIG SWITCHEROO!: "In the Ghetto..." blubeetle3 DC Comics 2006/8/9 18:10 3021 5
Guy Gardner was not blessed with a quick wit. "Oh, yeah?" and "Bite me!" were his two favorite retorts. So, it should come as no great surprise that Guy and Blue Beetle didn't get along. Guy often found himself on the losing end of a battle of wits.
However, things changed when Beetle went through his little metamorphosis. Frustrated and upset with the situation, Beetle lost his panache for comebacks. And Guy, in particular, was able to "push Beetle's buttons"! |
|
| THE BIG SWITCHEROO!: "Holy GENDER-BENDER, Batman!" blubeetle3 DC Comics 2006/8/8 5:12 5020 6
Here's a little experiment I ran. I used all the same facial morphs at the same levels as my Blue Beetle character... except that I used them on Victoria 3 instead of Michael 3. Who knew that Beetle would've been a cute girl?
Of course Booster gets the blame for it!
You can just hear Booster's appraisal of Beetle's new female form: "Well, your breasts could be bigger, your thighs are a bit thick, and you've got junk in your trunk, ...BUT, all in all, I'd still DO YOU!"
EDIT: I added a title to this series to make them esier to find and seperate them from my other series. |
|
| THE BIG SWITCHEROO!: "Here Comes Peter Cottontail..." blubeetle3 DC Comics 2006/8/9 5:01 3506 4
Oh, that Booster! He's just incorrigible!
Taking a break from the "SUPERHERO SMACKDOWN" series (at least, until Round Three starts) and working on this series. |
|
| SUPERHERO SMACKDOWN: The Black Beetle blubeetle3 Smackdown 2007/7/6 17:01 3214 6
Meet Ted Kord (or as Suzie Dibny calls him, "Teddy"). He's smarter than you are. You know he's smarter. He knows he's smarter. And he's not afraid to tell you that he's smarter.
Mr. Kord made his fortune in arms manufacturing. The "genius bomb"? His. Electrically-charged plasma bullets? His. Genetic tracer missiles? You get the idea!
When "legitimate" (although highly unethical) avenues of commerce no longer stoked his fire, he turned to the highly lucrative field of super-villiany. Armed with a vast array of highly illegal technology and his airtank, the "Scarab", Ted Kord became the Black Beetle!
Not long after, the Black Beetle formed a loose association with the Power Posse. An association he recently took to the next level when he shot then team leader Max Lord in the head, thus, becoming the Power Posse's new leader.
Here we see Beetle posing with two of his favorite teammates/strippers: Tiffany and Suzie. |
|
| Superhero Smackdown: Seduction of the (Semi-)Innocent blubeetle3 Smackdown 2006/7/7 17:37 4162 8
Every superhero has a weakness. Superman and kryptonite. Martian Manhunter and fire. Batman and humility.
Blue Beetle's weakness? His tragic flaw? BEAUTIFUL WOMEN!
With this in mind, two members of Team One try to... ahem... persuade Blue Beetle into forming an alliance. Will Blue Beetle stay true to Team Two? Will he sell out? Will he become a midnight snack for Vampirella? Will Wonder Woman call him "Teddy Bear"? |
|
| SUPERHERO SMACKDOWN: In the Bug blubeetle3 Smackdown 2006/5/27 17:30 3696 5
In the past, I've been lambasted for lack of backgrounds in my renders. So, I decided to put Blue Beetle (YES! Steve Ditko's GREATEST creation!) in the Bug, the best superhero vehicle in comics. Plus, this is my entry into the SUPERHERO SMACKDOWN! |
|
| SUPERHERO SMACKDOWN: Crisis of Conscience! blubeetle3 Smackdown 2006/7/9 11:55 3756 7
Blue Beetle has an internal debate about whether to accept Wonder Woman and Vampirella's offer or not. His guardian angel and guardian devil argue the merits of their case. |
|
| SUPERHERO SMACKDOWN: "The Three 'B's to Succeed!" blubeetle3 Smackdown 2006/9/3 9:55 3583 5
Lady Heromorph has an offer for Power Girl from the producers of "SUPERHERO SMACKDOWN".
Will Power Girl accept? Has this competition just gotten better? Or at least, HOTTER? Or is Lady Heromorph just trying to get into Power Girl's pants? How will Wonder Woman react? How will Blue Beetle react? |
|
| SUPERHERO SMACKDOWN: "The Switch!" blubeetle3 Smackdown 2006/9/17 9:15 3684 3
The SMACKDOWN audience was shocked to discover that Blue Beetle was the man under the Winterhawk mask with the desceased Woman.
But, lo and behold, NEW EVIDENCE shows that it was indeed Winterhawk under the Winterhawk mask! (Who knew he bore such a close resemblence to Andy Dick?!)
The lovely Lady Heromorph updates the audience with the new footage! |
|
| SUPERHERO SMACKDOWN: "The $1,000,000 Question" blubeetle3 Smackdown 2006/9/23 19:23 3415 4
The remaining heroes on Adventure Island compete against each other for $1,000,000! However, some of the questions are rather unorthodox.
(Everyone else was doing dino pics, so, I thought I'd do the gameshow! ) |
|
| SUPERHERO SMACKDOWN: "Someone To Watch Over Me" blubeetle3 Smackdown 2006/7/24 16:08 3472 10
Uh... yeah.
What can I say? |
|
| SUPERHERO SMACKDOWN: "Reunion" blubeetle3 Smackdown 2006/9/12 17:53 3501 5
Hey, hey! What have we here?
...And, again, before anyone jumps my s**t about this, I suggest you read I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S NOT THE JUSTICE LEAGUE. A lot of subtext there between Blue Beetle and Power Girl.
...And, yeah, deep down at heart I'm a soft and fuzzy kinda guy. YOU GOTTA PROBLEM WITH THAT! |
|
| SUPERHERO SMACKDOWN: "Postale Noir" blubeetle3 Smackdown 2006/10/7 11:57 3883 3
Power Girl has some concerns about the "Lady Heromorph Clause", but, LH sets her straight.
Winterhawk brought up an interesting point: Why should Power Girl agree to do something she doesn't necessarily agree with?
...And here's an answer. |
|
| SUPERHERO SMACKDOWN: "Now that We Got THAT Straightened Out..." blubeetle3 Smackdown 2006/9/17 17:05 3068 3
Okay. Winterhawk died at the casino. No, wait. Blue Beetle died in the casino. No...
Dammit! What the Hell's going on here?
(Again. Excuse the quality. Had to shrink it down to fit the limit!) |
|
| SUPERHERO SMACKDOWN: "Not So Nice Dreams!" blubeetle3 Smackdown 2006/8/5 21:36 3319 6
After the (repulsive) shock of seeing Robocop in the "altogether", Blue Beetle has a strange dream...
(Again, excuse the quality. Had to shrink it to fit the 850,000 limit.) |
|
| SUPERHERO SMACKDOWN: "Meanwhile, In Gotham City..." blubeetle3 Smackdown 2006/7/30 20:09 3040 2
Let's see how some others react to the recently televised "Superhero Smackdown".
Yeesh, Bats! Take a chill-pill. |
