| Croft and Dinkley #3 Sadman TV and Movies 2020/7/9 7:21 914 2
It's been a long time coming (I started sketching this out in May last year) but here is the cover for the 3rd issue non-existent cross-over comic Croft & Dinkley. (Probably the last in the series unless I have another of my funny turns.) |

| Mask Users Sadman TV and Movies 2020/4/14 3:56 1009 3
Inspired by a topical piece in the newspaper stating that medics are indeed wearing photos of themselves to show patients what they look like behind the personal protective equipment.

| Fashion Victim Sadman TV and Movies 2019/5/12 8:34 1112 3
Still haven't finished my 'Christmas themed' idea for last year, maybe by this December.
In the meantime, here's one thing I have finished in a long time. It's supposed to be Asuka Langley from the Evangelion anime/manga realm, falling victim to a practical joke.
Appropriately, the base font for the caption is called Ill Omen. (The girl has a fierce temper and combat training!) |
|
| Xmas Evangelion Sadman Other Comics 2019/12/10 9:09 1227 1
Two characters from the anime/manga series Evangelion find themselves assigned to duties at their HQ's staff & family Christmas event. One of them is not happy about it. |
|
| Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Too Late! Sadman TV and Movies 2018/5/18 15:07 1227 2
Alternative title: Requiem Pour Le Meilleur Ami D'un Tueur De Vampires.*
Inspired by the Jean Rollin film of similar (but shorter) title, and developed as a cover for an imaginary angst-ridden subtext heavy fan fiction piece like those popular back when the World Wide Web was young and I was too.
*Google French for: Requiem For A Vampire Slayer's Best Friend. |
|
| Bottle Vixens Sadman Original Characters 2018/3/8 14:48 1250 2
Cover for a manga that does not exist. And given how long it took me to complete just this, never will!
The concept came after casually browsing the managa shelves at a big comics store for memorable titles, then altering them slightly and trying to figure out what it would be about.
Thus the misadventures of an mostly female firm supplyng water coolers and bottled water, with a sideline in industrial espionage / crime fighting / saving the world from alien invasion.
Another title I'm considering is Black Butter. (It's a tough one!)
Title font: Adventurer Light SF Van font: Prisoner SF |

This was a topical gag when I started work on it. |

Ever wondered how those trendy new Daleks get that bronzed-all-over look? |
|
| Classic Horror: 4D Man Sadman Monthly and other challenges 2018/9/7 7:25 1421 5
Not sure if The 4D Man counts as a horror film, but the original poster promised seeing him turn people to dust, which is pretty horrible. |

Is there any publishing genre left untapped by the Star Wars franchise? This one perhaps. |

| 2001: A Safe Odyssey Sadman TV and Movies 2017/6/28 16:16 1464 3
Wanted to use a Nasa-style font on this but when skewed it proved pretty hard to read. Ditto all my space-age, techno and stencil fonts, so I settled on Yu Gothic.

Someone's probably already done this, but now I've done it too!
Raider's still from Rotten Tomatoes. BB-8 still from Wikipedia's BB-8 entry. |

| Spooky Laptop On A Sultry Summer Night Sadman TV and Movies 2015/12/21 13:55 1533 3
I posted a picture of the same character in a similar (but less embarrassing) situation one Xmas years ago. This technical upgrade was prompted by a photograph illustrating an article in The Metro free newspaper. |
|
| Evangelion: Plugsuit Twister Sadman TV and Movies 2017/12/20 12:26 1563 2
Originally inspired by a scene in one of the official fan-service spin-off mangas. The computer desktop format was done to re-imagine the plot leading to the girls' predicament and to redefine the characters as being their late teens. |
|
| Supergirl goes commando on Harley Quinn. Sadman DC Comics 2019/11/15 15:45 1582 1
Part 2 of the Follies of Harley Quinn.
(Part 3 won't arrive until next year because I'm trying to get last year's incomplete Christmas-themed picture done by December 25.) |

| Stolen Moment Sadman DC Comics 2018/2/14 7:48 1660 2
Something romantic for Valentine's Day!
An experiment in using only flat colour in two or three shades for a clean and simple look. Did use the blur-brush to smooth the edges though.
Done in Clip Studio Paint Pro. |
|
| Scooby's Avengers Sadman DC Comics 2017/1/29 8:05 1725 6
Okay, bit of a problem with the category here. WB/DC characters parodying Marvel characters with a nod to an old TV series which had nothing to do with either of them. |
|
| Harley Quinn: Graffiti Artist Sadman DC Comics 2015/9/1 12:51 1792 2
The poster forming the backdrop here caused a furore earlier this year when it appeared on London Underground stations. Cries of sexism, objectification of women and psychological manipulation through body image led to its withdrawal. But not before a certain porcelain-skinned minx had taken issue with it herself.
Harley was painted as my first attempt to get to grips with Corel Painter Essentials 5. The poster was scanned from a newspaper article and manipulated in Corel PaintShop Pro X7, which was also used to assemble and size the final composite. Harley's apparent bad hair day is purely down to my inexperience and in no way due to a lack of proper shampoo and conditioning on her part. |
|
| UFO: Does My Head Look Big In This? Sadman TV and Movies 2018/6/21 15:20 1804 3
Another little idea that turned into an epic voyage of trial and error. To anyone considering drawing the interior of Shado's Moonbase control room, my advice is: don't!
(For those too young or too old to remember, UFO was a 1970's Gerry Anderson live-action TV series.
