| The movie lasted longer than they thought and night had already fallen. Lori hated having to drive in the dark but fortunately the way home was uneventful save for the rather bright shooting star her son Timmy spotted. (she told him to make a wish). Then suddenly as they rounded a bend her headlights caught sight of a deer standing in middle of the road. Lori slammed the brakes and turned to avoid hitting the animal-and rammed through a guard rail toward a cliff. It was only by fortune of the cars rear axel hanging on a spur of rock that prevented them from going all the way over. Both Lori and Timmy sat frozen in their seats daring not to move out of fear it may cause them to fall the rest of the way into the creek below. With any hope someone would come along to help them before that happened. Then something caught their attention. Two huge arms jutted out and parted the trees. And out onto the bank stepped giant humanoid form. The being looked up at them and then waded into the water toward them. As it stepped in front of the cars headlights Lori and Timmy got a good look at it. IT WAS A GIANT ROBOT! Just like the ones they saw in the news reports of the incident in Mission City. The robots head, nearly coming level with the cliff thirty feet above the water came up to look in on the two, it?s eyes casting a surreal blue hue in the cars interior. The robot then raised one of it?s massive hands to grasp the front of the car, lifted it up and pushed it back on to level ground. After taking one last look at them the metal titan then turned and Lori and Timmy watched slack jawed is it disappeared into the woods. The following few moments of stunned silence was at last broken by ?COOL MOM!!!!!? |
