| Gillian Anderson Challenge By Winterhawk Winterhawk Other Comics 2004/5/9 16:39 4267 6
This is my entry for the Gillian challenge. I originally was going to do something more like what MissVee did. But by the time I got around to working on it. I just could not think of anything original to do with Roswell porn that would make it funny. So I went a whole different direction with this one. Again I was inspired by BA's recent experimentations to create this. I used a whole different method to get this result mind you. See comments for details. Gillian Anderson as Fairchild. |

| Comic Babes By Winterhawk Winterhawk Other Comics 2004/7/11 1:51 8909 13
After I finished my part on the first Call to Arms picture. I thought I would try a Multiple Character manipulation myself. If i knew we were going to be doing a new Call to arms project I probable would have saved this picture for that but alas that is not the case. What i Found difficult on this one, each model had a swimsuit on. some one peice and others two piece suits. some of the forms and shape of the bodies were gone so i had to comprimise will some of the shapes of the costumes. The biggest example is Wonder Woman, the WW on her chest does not really form to her body because of the swim suit. I also made it a good size for wallpaper. for those looking for a new desktop. All in all I am pleased with this one. As normal Comments & critiques are welcome. |

| Challenge of the Drunken Ape's Round 3: The perfect end to a perfect day Winterhawk DC Comics 2007/2/7 18:16 3674 7
The image: I did this in Poser & Photoshop. A mix of techniques, original render done in poser, lots of post production, some of the poser models had clothes some did not. I did a lot of painting in photoshop for the capes and costumes. Basically the same thing I did for rounds one and round two. I made massive art notes for both those rounds so you Judges should know what I did.
The story behind the image: As quite a few of you all know, I am a bit of a Batman fan. So it shouldn't come as a surprise that I decide to do a Batman image. Keeping with Dan's defining moment in the DC Universe I went with the above. It is an original composition based on the sub-story of Batman:The killing Joke. In the Sub-story that this picture is based on the fact that one Bad day can change a life. The Comedian was a failing stand-up comic, who couldn't find work, He made a deal with some Criminals to be an inside man on a robbery They had to go threw a chemical plant he used to work at to get to a building next door. The night the Job was going down, He was informed his pregnant wife got killed by an electrical shortage on a baby bottle warming device. The Mobsters would not let him back out of the caper. During the robbery they made The comedian was made to wear a Red Hood and cape and dress in a suit, as they had a series of robberies with the Same M.O. They would get a inside man to wear a red hood and they would follow him as the leader, Police and Batman thought the Red hood was the gangs ring leader rather then realizing that he was a different person in each robbery. During the robbery the chemical pant had changed security and hired armed guards. In a fury of bullets and mayhem the thieves and the Comedian ran through the plant, all of the mobsters had gotten shot and killed by the security guards and the Comedian was running scared out of his mind. Batman early in his career showed up and chased the Red Hood. Fearing for his life and soul and the horror of seeing the mobsters blow away in front of him, still in shock from the news of his dead wife and unborn child, The comedian reaches his breaking point and now also has a giant human bat chasing him. The only way to escape was to jump into a large chemical vat. Once in the chemical bath, The comedian almost drowned in the toxic mixture but he was flushed away into a nearby river, where he managed to swim to shore. Upon removing the Red Hood, The comedian noticed his reflection in a puddle. He was no longer just any Man, His skin was bleached white and his hair was green, after this the comedian snapped and became the Joker. Personally, I can't think of a single character that has effected the DC Universe more then the Joker, shooting Batgirl making her Oracle, Killing Robin, interacting with every single major hero and villain at one time or another, and making life generally very interesting for Batman himself, who is one of the three main DC characters. The moment above is particularly important because of a few things: One if Batman was faster and was able to catch the comedian before he jumped into the chemicals the Joker would never be, this early failure of the Dark Knight caused thousands of deaths in the DC universe as well as a great deal of pain and suffering for the Batman himself. Also if the Batman did not chase the comedian he would have most likely been shot and killed by the security guards. The early attempts of Batman to be a hero has caused the deaths and suffering of thousands of people in the DC Universe as well as creating his greatest adversary and he doesn't even know that he had a direct hand in the creation of the Joker. There would be no Joker without Batman. Indirectly Batman is the cause of all of Jokers victims including Jason Todd.
Enjoy! |

| C2F/Heromorph X-over: Poison Ivy & Harley Quin escape from Arkham By Juvenilemike and Winterhawk Winterhawk DC Comics 2004/8/8 21:58 4689 9
C2F/Heromorph Crossover event Entry: Working with Mike was really quite fun. I quite enjoyed the process. First we threw ideas back and forth until we came up with a similiar plan as this one. Originally we were planning on having Nightwing and Robin in the picture pearched on the edge of a building about to pounce on Ivy and Harley. then we searched for base pictures. After deciding on the Base pictures to be used we started to manip the characters. I did Ivy & Nightwing and Mike did Harley & Robin. When We finished the figures we talked back and forth about the final picture and decided to have Ivy and Harley escaping from Arkham. When Mike was putting the elements of the picture together he realized that Nightwing and Robin did not really fit into the picture anymore, so they were scrapped. Mike made all of the background elements then sent me the PSD I did some minor repositioning on the elements and a bit of trimming here and there and Voila. I sent it back to Mike, and We agreed that We were done. As for Ivy, I made her with standard Maniping techniques, nothing to special. |

| C2F/Heromorph Crossover 3: JLA #1 By B and Winterhawk Winterhawk DC Comics 2006/10/29 8:54 5884 20
Hawk's comments: Me and B took a different approach. Although we have known each other for a long time and B looks up to me as an artist, we had never worked together before. In this image I created all of the base images in Poser using various methods. Then I took them into photoshop and started the costuming until each character was about 50% done. I then sent it over to B who...
B's comments: ...who did all the rest of the costuming, including most of the metal and capes, the costume details, and the textures. I also made the floating screens in the background and put everything together for the final pic. Hawk provided the computer console. And to be serious for a moment (sorry), I have to say I was quite thrilled when I drew Hawk's name for the x-over. He's one hell of a talented artist, and we have a lot of respect for one another and I worship him like a GOD haha . I figured we could hit this one out of the ballpark, and I like to think we did.
