| I was reading some old Superman reprints of which one story had Mister Mxyzptlk and then I saw a comic featuring Bat-Mite and just had to do a shot of those two mighty powerhouses in battle. I pity the world that witnesses this epic conflict. It would be torn asunder by the fury...or not. |

I've been seeing lots of crickets around lately. They are one of the few insects that don't give me the creeps and I thought, "Why are there no cricket superheroes?" Probably because the cricket can't do anything much on the cool side. Doesn't climb walls, shoot webs etc. But MAN can those little things JUMP! This guy, The Cricketeer, can jump like a mile when he really has to. He has slightly tougher skin than most humans. About as tough as plywood maybe. Seemed like the right toughness to be in proportion to a carapace. He can also tell what the weather is going to do before it happens...hm, there's his alter ego right there. TV weatherman! I don't know if thats a real ability of the insect but there are rumors about it. And he can produce a loud chirping noise that can stun bad guys. Or annoy coworkers. Whichever is needed. Although, if he did it around his coworkers it would defeat the whole secret identity thing so scratch that. Oh yeah, he can communicate with real crickets.
Not an epic hero but a fun one. |

| I think I thought of a cool arch nemesis for The Christian. He is...The Christian. Yep, same name. Or not, I might call him The Disciple or something so that it doesn't become too confusing. Here's the story. So much of the world has a bad idea of Christians because of the many who claim to be followers of Christ but don't live up to it. Specifically, the ones who don't see others as God's children but see them as 'sinners' who should be punished. Where my original Christian character will not allow himself to harm humans or allow them to be harmed, this new guy sees himself as sort of God's avenging right hand or something. If he encounters a person who he believes has sinned he feels it his responsibility to punish them. In the beginning he's actually inspired by The Christian's crusade but, after the two meet, he sees the Christian as flawed since he won't harm people. He isn't actively out to destroy the Christian, at least at first, but the two are often at odds due to the originals vow to protect all humans and the new guys determination to punish sinners. I think it would lead to some intense battles since the original C can't even allow himself to harm this guy while the new C isn't bound by this. Although he can't physically hurt the Christian with him being invulnerable but he knows the Christian can't harm him either and uses this knowledge whenever he can. Plus, the new guy is aware of the supernatural attributes of the C's hammer and while he won't admit it, he fears it. He would never admit it but some part of his subconscious is afraid of what might happen if it were to ever touch him. He does believe he's right but is also afraid to test that conviction. I don't know if that makes any sense but I understand it. The Christians difficulties with this guy would be multi faceted. On the one hand, he has to somehow stop the guy without hurting him. And on the other he has to try and combat the bad image of christians in general this guy shows to the world. An image many people already hold and are quick to accept. |

| One of my sisters friends is almost as big a comic book fan as I am and she wanted me to do a superhero version of him. He is native american so she suggested that style of costume and he liked the idea. I asked him what three colors and he suggested blue red and white. Here's the final product. I like how it turned out. |

The idea for this particularly crappy drawing was born at work today when I was thinking about how sleepy I was. I was thinking about how I seem to be sleepy all the time and the name 'Captain Sleepy All The Time' sprang to mind. After thinking about it for around the next 10 hours I did this when I got home. The name changed to 'Narcoleptress' which is probably obvious. This character somehow acquired the power to make other people sleepy. To the point where she can actually make them fall asleep completely. Unfortunately, if she isn't actively using her power on someone, she feels sleepy herself. Which is why she is usually seen with a cup of coffee. And her belt pouches are full of money to buy more. She also leaves her shirt open to the navel since, owing to the fact that most criminals are male and she is usually sleepy when first encountering them, she often needs that first moment of distraction to snap out of her fugue and zap em with her powers.
She does help out friends sometimes who may be suffering from insomnia. |

| The colored version. Many flaws but a couple that bother me more than the rest. Triton, the green fish guy, is screwed up somehow. Like I placed him too low or something. Looking at where his knee is, his feet will end up below ground level based on the other characters. Dammit. Plus, I couldn't figure out how to do Black Bolts power without obscuring too much of the picture so he just looks like he's doing a flex yawn or something. Ah well. I gave it a shot. |

| I've been wanting to draw this guy since I joined here and finally got around to it. I like the design on him. Simple but effective and not overloaded on detail to make it harder to draw. I had high hopes for my pic of him but couldn't get it to look right so I settled for one that I felt didn't suck. I did ask Winterhawk for permission to do the drawing. |

| Over on DevArt, someone asked if I would do a pic of She-Hulk. I asked them if they had any specific ideas for the pic to which they replied that they would like to see her sitting on someone crushing them with her butt. They suggested that the victim be Zatana since Zatana was their favorite DC female. She-Hulk being their favorite Marvel femme. This was the best I could come up with. They mentioned wanting it in sort of an anime style but I'm not good at that so I just got as close as I could. |

| I think that one of my first submissions here was a much older version of this idea. If not then just forget this explanation and enjoy the pic.(I hope.) I don't like it much at all anymore. The impulse to redo it has been nagging at me for awhile now so I finally just did it. I like this one alot better. I just think the whole thing is better. From the newer outfit and game to the new text in the word balloon. I hope everyone else likes it as much as or better than the original. I do. |

| There is this great series of toys for little kids called Spiderman and friends that is made by Toybiz. My sisters kids have a few of them and I'll admit that I want some. They are all really clunky and cartoony but very cool at the same time. The line has a SpiderGirl character that was apparently created just for it since I've never seen the character anywhere else. I liked the design alot and wanted to do a pic of her. |

| I've never been able to do a Conan piece that pleased me. This one is the closest I've ever come to being happy with. I never liked the Conans with just the furry undies. I always thought he would at least wear pants of some kind. He's from Cimmeria for cripes sake! I think it was really cold there! I'll put up a colored version as soon as I get it done. I'm gonna try to do it tonight if I can stay awake. |

| At work recently one of the cooks made reference to not being able to find the 'blue roller'. I assume this is some sort of cooking implement but in my demented mind it conjured images of some sort of blue costumed hero on wheels. I'm not especially proud of the image or the idea(It seems too generic. Plus I'm not sure what I intended for that thing on his back. Maybe some sort of propulsion?) but I thought it was quite interesting where it originated. Strange where some ideas come from. |

| Today at work I was doodling in my little sketchbook. I wanted to draw a manga-ish female head wearing some kind of domino mask. For no good reason I thought she should be looking back over her shoulder. Then I thought she should have little wings because I like drawing wings. Then I thought it would be sexy if she were topless and covering her breast with her hand. Then I thought I would like to draw her with a nice caboose which would look good covered with a pair of blue panties. I don't know if all of that sounds as strange to anyone else as it does to me but I also found it interesting how the drawing built itself piece by piece in my head as I was drawing it. |

| Ok, bear with me, here is another cell shading practice piece. Biohaz_Daddy suggested I try the selection tool rather than the brush so I figured I'd give it a shot. I used my older Blue Devil pic as a test piece. I would never have thought that using the selection tools with a mouse would have been easier than the brush tool but sure enough it was. I didn't spend as much time on this one as I would have liked. No excuse for hurrying except that I needed to go to bed and I didn't want to have to wait to see what it would look like. I also tried doing highlights as well as shadows. Not sure if I like that or not. Seems to give it sort of a glowy aspect. |
