| BANZAI GIRL: THE MOVIE! by Jinky Coronado & Friends JinkyCoronado Other Comics 2012/1/23 13:51 3443 5
This is one of my favorite-ever pieces, and I had LOADS of help with this one.
Awhile back, when I first joined Heromorph, I posted a really basic version of this as a stand-alone manip. It was a small image and didn't get much response from anyone at the time. Now I've tweaked it and found a good use for it.
Some details: This began as a photo of me, actually wearing the tight, tiny Banzai Girl costume. In the photo shoot, we even had a fishing line to pull up my skirt for the always-helpful undies shot. And, of course, a fan was always blowing.
My "Team Banzai" friends did much of the photomanip work on this, working from -- and over -- my layout and drawing.
Then Jason Perkins, an amazing fellow Heromorpher, did the design work on this to turn it into a movie poster, even interpeting my BANZAI GIRL logo into some more fitting for a film. A big 27" x 40" print of this is proudly hanging in my house!
My hope is we will soon be able to show this in some Hollywood meetings to see if we can get some interest in an actual BANZAI GIRL movie.
Hope you like it as much as I do!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Starting today, my first full comic book story in quite a while is appearing online. EXPOSURE: ALTERED LIVES is written by David Campiti and illustrated by me, and the entire story will appear on a 3-pages-a-week schedule for FREE at exposure.keenspot.com.
This is sort of an event. A whole bunch of issues of EXPOSURE were drawn in 1998 - 2000 by superstar sexy girly artist AL RIO for Image Comics, and he gave me the stamp of approval to pick up the pencil and be the one to continue the adventures of Lisa Shannon and Shawna Diaz, the characters he and Dave created.
The series is a cross between FRINGE and CHARLIE'S ANGELS and is a while lot of fun! And the tagline is "Revealing what lies beyond the truth"
Here's the cover art! It features all the main characters and is drawn by me, with coloring by Katrina MaeHao.
I hope you like it and take the time to check out the free series on keenspot. And yes, I said WHOLE SERIES. There are HUNDREDS of sexy Al Rio pages of EXPOSURE there for you Heromorph fans, for free!
Great way to start 2012, right?
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

| BANZAI GIRL: SANTA'S CHRISTMAS! by Jinky Coronado JinkyCoronado Original Characters 2011/12/24 11:21 4045 6
Merry Christmas, everybody!
I wasn't timely enough to be a part of Heromorph's "Secret Santa" event, but I've been working like crazy to finish this Holiday posting for you by Christmas Eve!
Following up on my previous Yuletide drawing, where -- in my Banzai Girl school uniform -- I sat on Santa's lap reading from a long, lonnnnng list of Christmas wants, for this one Santa is delivering my presents -- and I'm waiting on him!
I wanted to draw something a little special this time, and so I threw in a Santa's sackload of little details: Santa lowering himself on a rope (from his Sleigh!) so he doesn't get all sooty from the chimney...Jasmine dressed in a little girl's version of a Santa suit, eagerly waiting with a big bowl of cookies for St. Nick...Christmas stockings hung with care for David, for Jasmine, and (of course) for me, with mine being the biggest (and cutest!), with my lonnnng Christmas list pinned to it as a gentle reminder...Wilfred up in Santa's pack, puzzled by it all...and me (of course) in a super-sexy version of a Mrs. Santa suit! (And yes, I do have this outfit in real life, and I'm wearing it tonight at my Christmas party!) (I have three different Christmas outfits, actually.)
I hope you enjoy looking at it as much as I enjoyed creating it! (Thanks to Tina Francisco for the layout assist and to Raymund Lee for the festive colors!)
Holiday Hugs to all,

| EXPOSURE: NIGHT OF THE LIVING DAD! by Jinky Coronado JinkyCoronado Other Comics 2011/12/11 20:27 4367 3
This is the cover art for the upcoming EXPOSURE book that I'm working on for keenspot.com, entitled NIGHT OF THE LIVING DAD! This story should premiere in February.
I wanted to go with a real 1970s-era "Marvel black-and-white magazine covers" approach like the editors showed me for books like Dracula Lives, Monsters Unleashed, and (of course) Tales of the Zombie.
So main characters Shawna Diaz (the brunette) and Lisa Shannon (the blonde) are attacked in a graveyard by hideous, rotting corpses! How to make it weird, and scary, and yet still sexy?
Again, I hope the details make it sing: The leggy uniforms (created by Al Rio when he drew the original EXPOSURE stories), the high heels, the strategically-shredded clothing, the way the monsters grab the characters, the girls' expressions, and so on. Color is by Katrina Mae Hao.
Did I make it work? Let me know! :)

| BANZAI GIRL: MODEL BY DAY, WEREWOLF BY NIGHT! by Jinky Coronado JinkyCoronado Original Characters 2011/11/29 13:51 4551 5
Keeping with the same basic layout concept I used for the SNAKEMAN and the TIKBALANG images, here's a sassy-and-sexy one featuring a Werewolf! Art by me, color by Katrina MaeHao.
I tried for a lot of moody imagery with this one: Littered, filthy alleyway; Banzai Girl as the swooning damsel in distress; a furry, fearsome foe so frightening, not even heavy chains around his neck, arms, and legs could hold it! Plus, I added bats, the -- of course! -- full moon...
...and for sass and sexiness, my character's showing maximum leg and cleavage (I'm never too far away from my Victoria's Secret push-up bra, so pretty you have to see it!)...and Michelle is leaping to the rescue, in her skin-tight leather jumpsuit! Leather never looked that hot when it was mooing. :)
Hope you enjoy this!

| MY DADDY IS A ZOMBIE! by Jinky Coronado JinkyCoronado Original Characters 2011/11/23 9:46 4454 7
I'm illustrating two issues of EXPOSURE for Keenspot.com, the first of which launches in less than two weeks. The story is called NIGHT OF THE LIVING DAD!, which I think is pretty amusing.
In the tale, a father with heaps and piles of responsibilities, dies -- but his family needs him so much, he continues his routine after he's passed away...and nobody notices the difference!
I wanted to start the story off with something pretty normal: A father looking in on his sleeping child to make sure she's OK. But I wanted it to be sexy, scary, and a little bit creepy, all at once.
Art is by yours truly, with color by Katrina Mae Hao.
Please let me know what you think!

This concept is based on the same layout idea I used with the previous drawing I did, but with certain changes. Anyone discover what my original inspiration was?

| BANZAI GIRL: REVENGE OF THE SNAKEMAN (line art) by Jinky Coronado JinkyCoronado Original Characters 2011/9/4 6:28 2727 0
Here's the finished (more or less) line art. I took the rough that you saw posted earlier -- which is drawn on tracing paper so it's easy to see through, and had lots of cutting and taping for pieces I re-worked -- and I drew this tightly onto 2-ply bristol board working on a lightbox. Then my brother Pejee cleaned up and finessed the piece in Photoshop.
My lightbox is actually a big solid wood drafting table with a 22" x 28" lightbox built into it, that I bought in Brazil and had shipped to the USA. It is EXACTLY the same type of table used by Mike Deodato, Will Conrad, and Cliff Richards!
Now's it's being Emailed off to Katrina Mae Hao for coloring! (You're certainly welcome to color it, too, if you like!)

| BANZAI GIRL: VAMPIRELLA DREAMING! by Jinky Coronado JinkyCoronado Original Characters 2011/2/23 0:17 5952 5
Hi, everybody --
One of my fans hired me for a full-color commission of myself -- well, my character Banzai Girl, who shares my name Jinky Coronado -- dressed as Vampirella.
Other than, "Sexy pose, show lots of skin," he didn't give me a lot of details.
So, to keep it interesting, I put her kneeling on a BATskin rug (as opposed to bearskin or sheepskin), included the most menacing pumpkins I could come up with, put in a full moon, and even added some goofy bats for good measure. Of course, I had to toss in Wilfred (the red plush toy), and keep my Banzai face and pigtails and earrings, so that my character didn't get lost in the costume and setting.
And then I added my recent trick of having the eyes of the batskin rug and pumpkins looking at her, much as I do the stuffed toys that I usually decorate Banzai Girl's bedroom with.
What do you think? Did it work?
