Eants are the forest guardians of old and frequent the same worlds as Sylvan elves.though highly intelligent they keep only their own council and rarely interfere in the affairs of mortals. They appear much as large humanoid trees and within the five galaxies they are not unique as many sentient plants abound on multiple worlds. Though the Eants are thought to be the eldest of such species. They are not a space-faring species and NEVER leave their established home worlds...though a few have been recorded as having migrated via the occasional adventurers spacecraft.

Half horse half Eagle...Maybe half Griffon, The Hippogriff is a fearsome predator, weighing in at approximately 800 pounds (nearly twice the weight of a Griffin) they sustain themselves on equines and herd animals and occasionally fish. Their only natural predators are dragons and of course Griffons which they will attack on sight. Like the Griffin, they will attack their legendary foe without regard to personal safety or the safety of their riders. Conflicts with Griffins are rare as they inhabit different climates. Hippogriffs inhabit temperate regions while Grifins live in arid tundra. Hippogriffs unlike their cousins are more readily tamed and accepting of a rider making them the preferred mount between the two.

The Legendary Griffin majestic hybrid of Lion and Eagle, andoften serving as a loyal mount and companion. These grand beasts can be found soaring the skies of many worlds and have few natural enemies. However, they have what one could only describe as a supernatural hatred of one species in particular...Hippogriiffs. Griffins will attack Hippogriffs in preference to all other combatants regardless of their own personal safety or that of any rider. This aggressive behavior is thought to be a magical/genetic compulsion the cause and purpose of which is as yet unknown.

The Arctic Dragon is a fearsome predator, it's dark scales and white fur make for a bright contrast against the snowy plains of the regions these great creatures call home. Their diet is primarily Sea lions and Orca but they have been known to attack Polar bears and other large mammals. They are capable of spewing forth a stream of liquid nitrogen that can instantly freeze even the most durable materials rendering them as brittle as fine crystal. Their body temperature remains at a constant 50 degrees below zero Fahrenheit.  Although they are fierce predators they have shown a tendency to befriend Solarans and other sentient species protecting them from attacks by other predators. As one might suspect they are quite susceptible to warm temperatures and fire based attacks even temperatures about 40 degrees Fahrenheit can be lethal over a long duration.

The Vulture Dragon, so named because of it's gaunt appearance and appetite for carrion, is actually a fearsome predator. It's breath is a noxious liquid that causes rot/corrosion on contact. The magical nature of this liquid causes advanced aging which causes any thing it comes in contact with to age rapidly to the point of decomposition. Certain plastics are unaffected by this as are some ceramics.

This image was shot in the same forest scene as the Forest Dragon and has the exact same settings as well as another modified skin based on Dariofish's Great Dragon textures Frome Renderosity.

The Forest Dragon is one of the more fearsome dragons ...as dragons go. they are the classic fire-breathing green behemoth of legend and fantasy. They are rather sentient and some can speak albeit only on a rudimentary level.

All that aside this is the single most complex piece I have ever done...the only postwork is the glowing eyes and my logo...all plants are 3d and in render. My standard 4 light setup brought out the best in the scene and the Dragon's skin is a modified version of Dariofish's Great dragon textures from Renderosity, created by me. this was a real labor of love and the render time was an astonishing 20 minutes...eat that Reality users.

Sky dragons are large even for dragons, though not as large as Mountain Dragon they do share much of the same territory and often come into conflict with the giant behemoths from time to time. Sky dragons are deceptively agile and capable of hovering (Unlike most dragons which cannot) their breath is a blueish flame of intense heat composed primarily of plasma. This intense flame can burn through all but the most resilient materials. Sky Dragons mate for life, unlike other dragons that mate periodically. If the mate should die the surviving dragon often selects a new mate the following mating season. However, if a Sky Dragon's mate is killed the surviving mate often goes on a killing spree searching for it's mate's killer be it man or beast and does not stop until it is killed or it has exacted revenge. In this respect Sky dragons set themselves apart for no non-sentient creature is known to seek revenge making scholars speculate as to just how sentient these magnificent creatures truly are.

Sylvan Elves are what one typically envisions when they hear the word Elf. They are lovers of nature and weavers of ancient magics. It is well worth noting that Sylvan Elves are space-faring though their ship are usually organic or magical and often both.  They are skilled archers and swordsmen trained from birth making them more than a match for most trained warriors, but it is their elder magics which place them among the ranks of the most formidable societies despite their lack of conventional technology. Magic in Sylvan society has replaced all facets of technology from arms and armor to communications and entertainment.  The lush groves they guard and tend are unlike anything most creatures have ever seen, but beware...the trees keep the elves secrets and all of the creatures of the forest are at the Sylvan Elves command.  It is not unheard of for whole invading armies to be overwhelmed by the very world upon which they sought to conquer.

Steed Dragon

Hits2537  Comments0
Steed Dragons (which come in a wide variety of colors running the entire rainbow) are native to only one planet in the five galaxies Tamoril 4, and are thus highly sought after by collectors of rare species. However, they are unlike most dragons in many respects, for instance: All Steed Dragons breath fire regardless of color, they also have a need to bond with a rider. This last part is very important because without a rider a Steed Dragon will turn rogue attacking anyone unfortunate enough to cross it's path, though no rogues have been reported for hundreds of years. Draco-zoologists have speculated that it is most like magical tampering with the native species and selective breeding which has made these unique creatures they way they. When bonded to a rider (of which the dragon could have several in one lifetime but not more than one at any given time) the dragon confers many magical powers and abilities, all available to the rider even when separated by hundreds of miles. Those abilities are the same no matter the rider and are as follows: Draconic senses (sight, Hearing, Smell) Various spells (nature related), Sensory bond (the ability to see through the eyes of the dragon and hear what it hears), Dragon Heart (the ability to know the general well being of the dragon).
Furthermore the dragon itself possesses a number of abilities beyond those of other dragons which are as follows: Healing flames (a form of fiery breath that heals rather than harms), Rider bond (A form of telepathy which allows the Dragon to communicate with the rider and the rider alone although it works well with other Telepaths), Rapid growth (within 30 days of hatching Steed Dragons reach full maturity), Soul Link ( when bonded with a rider the Steed Dragon will share the rider's faith, beliefs outlook, and behavior making them the perfect companion the more good or evil the rider the more good or evil the dragon. The bond has the negative side effect of being very harmful to the dragon should the rider be killed violently, in which case the shock could overwhelm the dragon and cause it to dies as well. the last and probably most sought after ability is called Dragonsfire this ability extends the life of the rider by hundreds of years and some speculate it may extend it by thousands should a rider avoid any misfortune. This last ability is why the eggs of these creatures are so desperately sought after and is also the reason their planet remains locked in turmoil and has yet to evolve beyond it's medieval era. The planet they reside on however is thankfully under the close watchful eye of the IGFW and no dragons are permitted to be removed from the planet without documentation from the local rulers (which by the way is the only way to acquire one). Steed dragons are not born, they are bread in captivity and no free dragons of any kind roam the continents. It is considered an immense honor to be granted a Steed Dragon and few outsiders have ever had the privilege or left the planet after receiving one, by their own choice.

Elves are among the oldest spacefaring race in all of the five galaxies and one of the oldest races in existence, They come in 4 varieties Floranesti or Forest elves, Luminesti or Light elves, Dakkonesti or Dark Elves, and Celesti Celestial Elves. All are immortal in that they cannot die from the passage of time but they are quite vulnerable to injury and disease as any other mortal life form. Each type of elf has their own way of doing things though all excel in the use of magic. Luminesti are very often found in the company of Solarans and have also been known to mate with them. Luminesti are lovers of nature though less so than other elves except Dakkonesti. Dakkonesti elves have skin as black as pitch and have a strong aversion to light they are thought to be evil though they are no more so than other species. They too are often found in the company of Solarans who find them exotic and sensual. Floranesti are more primitive and any technology they do possess is strictly magical or organic and often both. They rarely associate with non-Elves though once their trust is earned they are loyal forever. Celesti elves are what people usually think of when one hears the name Elf, their worlds are covered with lush forests and towering crystal cities they excel in art and music and all other forms art including the arts martial ie warfare. They are fearsome warriors and like all elves are quite proficient in the use of the blade and the bow though mostly as a matter of tradition. They possess technology, magic, and organic technologies that are above most in the five galaxies. They only associate with "Important Soloarans and leaders or emissaries from other worlds and while they have been known to mate with other species, doing so is cause for banishment and shunning and the offender never be accepted into their society again. They tend to look down on the lesser races but would never abandon them entirely it is not uncommon for Solarans to lose their temper and get into a fist fight with a Celesti elf as Solarans view their type of Egotistical behavior as repulsive.

After a great critique by Pijon I decided to re-shoot this image with DOF on the camera and some much needed Sci-Fi updating.  Thanks for the help bro never avoid a critique because you think it might bruise my ego...I don't have one.

Storm dragons are lords of the skies and often worshiped by primitive folks as gods. They are incredibly cunning as are all dragons but these have been known to bait and trap opponents . Their immense size (nearly 120 feet long) belies their maneuverability which is incredible. Their most fearsome attack is without a doubt their ability to spew forth Lightning at rages of up 300 yards with devastating effect. Few creatures dare to challenge an airborne Storm Dragon and fewer still survive such challenges.

Hill dragons prefer the hill regions hence the name, Like all dragons they possess superior camouflage abilities. In combat they prefer to grab opponents and fly as high as possible letting their victim fall to its death. They can breathe a noxious gas of concentrated chlorine which even air filters and purifiers cannot screen out. They can bit with their ferocious teeth and rend even the toughest armor with their razor sharp talons. Like all dragons they are incredibly intelligent and may ally themselves with powerful creatures for mutual benefit. They are fiercely loyal if raised in a domestic setting and will happily allow themselves to be ridden. Unlike the fabled steed dragons however, they share no special bond with their riders.

The legendary Golden Great Dragon is known for it's mystical abilities as well as it's wisdom and ability to speak. Unlike other dragons the Golden Great Dragon is sentient and possesses immense magical abilities. They have the ability to assume the form of any humanoid they choose allowing them to live among many species secretly for years at a time. Elves tell of the Immortal dragons with scales of gold, speaking with great reverence of these mighty beings. They possess two breath weapons in addition to having the ability to cast spells (many long forgotten) Lightning and Fire capable of melting Adamantine. There are few dragons who can match the power and fury of a Golden Great Dragon when angered. However, they are benevolent beings using their wisdom and magic to aid the forces of light and promote the greater peace throughout the five galaxies.

Image updated there was some poke through on the rear leg where it actually went through the rock.

Cloud dragons are revered in much the same way as Earth Dolphins and for similar reasons. They have what can only be described as a kind heart and are helpful to creatures who are lost or in distress. They have been known to defend helpless victims from other dragons but have only done so for sentient beings. They can be found quite often with riders as they bond quickly and also easy to train. They will not serve cruel masters which has lead many Arcano-biologists to believe that they may be aligned to the forces of good though they are at a loss for how such a thing could be. Cloud dragons are among the largest and most powerful of the dragon species growing as large as 120 feet in length, though more than half of that is tail and neck. Like all dragons the possess a breath weapon however theirs is a cloud of gas that is electrically charged the gas holds it's cohesion well enough to be used at a distance of 400 feet while still retaining its potency. Because of their helpful nature they have earned the nickname "Luck Dragon".

Rainbow Dragons also known as Iridescium Dragons are deceptively beautiful iridescent feathered dragons with a nasty demeanor. They are just slightly larger than a Grizzly bear and 3 times as aggressive attacking anyone or anything foolish enough to approach within striking distance. Their breath weapon is a powerful neuro-toxin which causes the muscles in their victims to contract violently. The contractions are so powerful that the body literally crushes itself snapping bones and rupturing organs. The toxin has secondary kill effects which affects any creature unfortunate enough to come into contact with former victims or their remains. Most wilderness creatures give them a wide birth and flee as fast as possible from the area. Their breath weapon takes the form of a stream which can be spat with great accuracy up to 100 yards the stream leaves a spotted trail 75 feet in length which retains it's lethal potency for up to 18 hours. Their camouflage is the greatest among dragon-kind. they can actually bend and refract light making them 90% invisible when not moving. They can be ridden but riders must take special precautions against their Poisonous breath, wearing any clothing with a sealed environment will help.
