| Supergirl - Lost Daughter of Krypton LocalHero 2007/8/19 12:46 3612 2
Just a quick manip of Kristiana Loken as Kara Zo-Rel. Multiple background layers - new york (yes I left in the towers!), couple of exploding planets overlayed and some kryptonian script. Supergirl herself is recolor of Kristiana's original clothes with some alterations to make the belt/skirt and the cape added from scratch. The shirt logo was deformed from one i created using psp vectors. removed some (few) blemishes and enhanced the eye color. Little ship in the background is kara escaping the explosion.
Wanted to do a more realistic version of the current costume, but I prefer the highly saturated feel, these are comic characters after all.
This is an homage to the helen slater supergirl promo poster of her flying over new york |

| Girl of the Week : Aquagirl OCP 2007/7/31 19:19 4910 10
My atempt at the girl of the week. I choose Aquagirl II (hope this is the rigth one) because Aquagirl I is like a gender bender of Aquaman, blond girl and even the costume is the same. Did everything in Photoshop, except for minor ajustments in the background that I'm not able to do in Photoshop yet... Anyway, I think I'm getting how to work with now... You'll be the judges of it. |

| Supergirl- Anime Alternate Costume 1 Jedifan227 2007/7/30 13:00 7190 7
This is my version of the Anime Costume featured on a maquette that DC Direct has recently issued. I love the look and design of it, and to me, it is definetly Supergirl. The model is Marketta. Enjoy! |

| Up, Up, and Away CDA 2007/7/16 19:24 6913 21
We haven?t had a Supergirl in? oh? I?d say about two weeks so I guess we are due. Here is free spirited Kara having fun with her power of flight.
I would like to thank Android for the base image and also for his inspirational versions of Supergirl.
The background for this image, similar to the one used in Angel of Light, was painted in Photoshop.

I frankensteined 6 different images of this little blonde to produce a pose I thought was a good flying one. I think she makes a good "teen Supergirl". I do not know the model's name. |

| Black Canary theparker 2007/6/25 2:22 6614 17
I've had this one sitting dormant for a couple of months, and thought I should probably wrap it up. It's been through a few incarnations with the clothing, and I think I'm finally happy with it. I could never figure out why she had blue in her costume when her namesake would either evoke black or yellow, so I tossed the blue in favor of yellow.
A few comments from my earlier work suggested I should do the full figure instead of just torsos. Here's my attempt...
The poster girl's Janine with a few other parts, mostly Jeri Ryan.
Anyways, my version of Black Canary. Enjoy. |

| Harley Quinn joshmc 2007/6/23 2:54 4716 13
I needed a break from doing the Heroines, so I thought I'd try my hand at of DC's Bad Girls. This was real challenging trying to find a balance between the Harley Quinn everyone knows and one that may appear in the latest Batman film series. I broke my own rule of not using the same actress more than once, but Kristen Bell seems to be a fan favourite to play the part, so this ones for them! I used the recent pic of the Joker as inspiration, I theorize she's more like an obsessed fan, hence the smeared makeup and dark eyes. Kept the colour scheme in the suit reasonably similar in style and pattern, but added some subtle touches like the diamond patterns and the jacket. The jester hat was the hardest thing to get right, I tried various hair styles to mimic her usual headware but nothing looked really convincing. This hat is combination of several different jester hats. Ultimately, the goal of this was to make this girl look more dangerous and threatening than her comic book counterpart. |

| Silver Banshee Android 2007/6/19 17:46 6691 21
Model is (was) Aria Giovani.
Many of you won?t like this Silver Banshee. I know that! Let me explain myself: when I?m trying to make a photo realistic pic, I start wondering what works and what doesn?t in a 3D world.
In the comic books, she appears to use cosmetics in order to alter her face. I don?t believe a supernatural villain would do this! A mummy face is preferable.
Her comic book ?swimming costume? defies gravity. Sorry, I had to preserve her dignity by creating a functional one. It could be understood as a supernatural cloth so it doesn?t need to obey anything but I took the opposite way.
In the background, you ladies and gentlemen can see a pile of old books which is a remembrance of her origin.
Silver Banshee was built as a present to Mr. Bikerbot and I thank all of you who criticized this photomanip during its construction phase.

My tribute to the late, great teen Green Lantern. And,yes,I'm aware her Power Ring is on her left hand. Being left-handed myself,I have a tendency to make characters lefties.

| Wonder Woman joshmc 2007/6/11 17:41 7290 25
After coming across this site a while ago, I decided to challenge myself to a photo manipulation challenge of Wonder Woman. I went for a more realistic approach to the outfit, a suit she would wear in battle and one that shows off her Greek heritage, I was thinking more of what they could make if and when they make the movie.
UPDATE - JUNE 2007: After my last 2 pieces had come up so well I had to revisit this and change it dramatically. Almost a complete reworking top to bottom. I remember Joss Whendon jokingly wanting Cobie Smulders in the role when he was doing the film, so I figured I change the model to her I did quite a bit of research in Greek armor to get this looking right. I tried to strike a balance between the traditional Wonder Woman costume and ancient Greek armor. The result is a lot better then the original to which I am much happier. |

| Wonder Girl 002 masterofdisaster127 2007/6/6 17:15 4825 12
It's been over a year since I last worked on, let alone posted a manipulation. Slowly getting back into the swing of things but still need to get the rust out of the hinges. To kick off my return to the art, I decided to do a Wonder Girl (Cassie) in the old style uniform. I chose Amy McCarthy as the model. Still a few things that I'm not 100% happy with (Like the draping of the cloth and creasing) but I think it's a start.
Any technique tips would be appreciated.
**UPDATE** I took some of the suggestions and added a touch of black to the pants to show a little more definition. Still not perfect, but with the pants and shirt I was going for a very shiny (almost lycra) type look. I also added some wristlets. |

| Full of Wonder - A Wonder to beHold CDA 2007/6/3 7:48 5426 12
After taking the Batmobile out for a nightly cruise (To the Batmobile) and encountering very little action, I decided to pay Wonder Woman a visit. She said she didn?t have time for me at that moment, as she was busy washing her hair. With a smirk on my face I responded; ?Well go right ahead. Don?t let me hold you up.? |

| Supergirl 3.1 Android 2007/5/25 17:23 5481 16
That will be the last Supergirl for me although I'm very proud of this work! As I said before, Victoria's former version had a very wrong lightning. I thought for a moment and decided to take advantage of the original light source. Then, with a few modifications (her skirt, eyes and brightness), I had the opportunity to make a huge scene. Some comments: Here, Supergirl is activating her heat vision. The driver is oddly similar to a pic of mine. Desert, clouds and money were found on a Google research and very modified. The entire cockpit, including the gun shots, broken glass, crucifix and hand were made by me. |

| Oracle--Handi-capible SCTreeguy 2007/5/5 0:35 3063 1
Babs was sitting in her new all-terrian wheelchair watching the waves from the beach. Just then, Bat-Man walked up. "Why are you crying, Oracle?" He asked. "I lost the use of my legs, Nightwing broke up with me and I am starting to realize that I'll never be screwed," she sobbed. The Bat-Man smiled, "Don't cry Barb, let me help you." He reached down and scooped her up in his powerful arms. Holding her close to his chest, he began to wade into the ocean. There eyes met and without warning he threw the helpless Oracle into the surf and started to walk back to the dry sand. Looking over his shoulder he called out, "NOW YOU'RE SCREWED!!!" |
