In the days before every other movie was based on a comic book, Superman had a mullet after coming back from the dead, Batman was crippled and replaced by some young punk, and Spider-Man tried to retire while his clone did all the web slinging for a while. Along with all these other attempts to shake up the big characters' universes, Princess Diana of Thymmiscaria saw her title of Wonder Woman go to Artemis, the champion of a recently discovered tribe of violent Amazons. Like Azrael did with Batman, this was a more bad ass WW who was more interested in beating up bad guys and monsters than in saving people. Think Xena meets Red Sonja in the modern world. |

Seriously tho, I have just learned how to make my pictures "glow" in Imageready. It was actually a lightsaber tutorial on you-tube, but I think it works ok for super-powers too.

| This is the beat down Superman received from the combined efforts of Batman, Flash, Green Arrow and the Atom in the first book of that Dark Knight Returns 2 that DC did a few years back. This is for the final challenge of that Challenge of the Artists contest. The challenge was to do a character defining moment from the DC universe and most people I asked wanted the fight from the first Dark Knight Returns between Supes and Bats but I liked that this one had more characters. |

| Well, I figured I'd go ahead and color it. Warts and all. I left it with flat colors since they didn't do alot of shading and stuff back when these guys showed up. Plus I cropped it some to keep the negative space to a minimum. For better or WORSE here it is. |
