| Starkiller thestarkiller 2010/11/25 14:21 2085 0
Just finished playing The Force Unleashed II, and it was every bit as fun as the first one. I both love and hate this game, though. Around 8 years ago, I started using the name Starkiller on every website I signed up for. Used to be if you saw the name Starkiller, you knew I was there. Now, thanks to this game series, my obscure little Star Wars reference isn't so obscure anymore and more often than not, I find my name already taken by someone who is completely oblivious to where the name even originated. They simply know that it's that badass character in the new Star Wars games. /sigh
Comments are welcome and appreciated.
p.s. I was sure whether to put this under Star Wars or Video Games. I opted for Star Wars. |

Out in space there exists an interstellar cabal of alien scientists. Their altruistic goal, the preservation of species threatened with extinction. To this end they acquire specimens of fauna in danger of dying out, transplant them to a planet where they can thrive and once grown to sufficient numbers return some to their world of origin.
Unfortunately, despite their advanced intelligence even they can make clerical errors?. |

| Species Zzakzzt Obsidian 2014/2/15 9:17 2376 1
The Zzakizt are reclusive xenophobes that live on the outer rim of the Canis Major Galaxy. The first encounter with their species went horribly and erupted in a war that lasted 50 years and cost millions of lives. Currently the IGFW holds a tentative peace treaty and guards their borders against IGFW citizens restricting passage to their borders. It is interesting to note that they fully recovered their numbers after the war within 12 years. They have a hive mentality and a Hive queen, though there are several thousand sub-queens which they call Droza. They ahve a very complex social system a for the most part life is indestinguishable from most other worlds. There are celebrity Drones and warriors a well as Droza. When their queen reaches the last years of her life she gives birth to a single successor, this queen possesses all of the knowledge and experience of the queen and is essentially the same being. The current queen is ten generations old the equivalent of being nearly 1,00 years old. |

| Species Vareen Obsidian 2013/11/5 0:48 2558 3
The Vareen are a race of beings beieved to be descended from the legendary Gargoyle in as much as Humans are descended from Chimpanzees. The ruth is more likely that they share similar genetics. However, where Gargoyles can turn to stone the Vareen cannot. Vareen society is as advanced as any in the five galaxies and they possess techn ology on par with the galactic norm. They have no natural enemies and ally themselves with many species. |

| Species Stakahn Obsidian 2015/5/20 22:25 2181 3
The Stakahn Emirate along with the Sathari Empire and the Hadean Empire, were the instigators of the Millennium Wars. They spread death and destruction across 3 of the five galaxies. The Stakahn eventually withdrew from the war along with the Sathari leaving the Hadean Empire to suffer the brunt of sanctions a compensation. Additionally, the Hadeans were the only ones found to have broken intergalactic rules of conduct for treatment of prisoners of war making them guilty of war crimes. The Stakahn Emerate managed to escape from the war with few sanctions if any and have a tentative truce with the IGFW and it's allies. The Stakahn themselves are humanoid and roughly the same size and build as Solarans but have greater bone density and redundant organs. This makes them very tough opponents in combat. They enjoy being warriors and have a warrior's code which few seldom violate. |

| Species Rayal Obsidian 2013/10/30 6:26 2373 3
The Rayal are a a reptilian species from the Raya system in the Andromeda Galaxy. They are roughly the same size as Solarans though they tend to be rather slender. Their technology is roughly the equivalent of the Intergalactic average and their society is comparable to Earth in most respects. There is little that is outstanding about Rayal save for the fact that they are nearly immune to most magical effects/spells to roughly 80 percent. As a result they have little interest in magic although they have studies Psionics in depth. The Raya System is a member of the IGFW in good standing and participated in the Millennium Wars for the IGFW. |

| Species Naga.jpg Obsidian 2014/9/6 11:31 2210 2
The Naga are a reclusive race of evolved serpents with a great propensity towards magic. In fact magic is so ingrained into their society that (as on many other magic dominated worlds) it has replaced technology in every part of daily life. The Naga themselves worship the Egyptian gods and their society reflects this. The Pharaoh rules the entire planet and has many Nomarchs serving across the continents, and several high priests beneath them. All Naga are born able to use magic (mostly for defensive purposes) and can create darkness, create oil slicks. Magic and spells are taught from pre-school ages and on through college. Misuse of magic is taken seriously and the Naga possess unique items that neutralize it rendering the wearer powerless. They have even developed magical implants that visibly mark the bearer with a glowing mark that shines through clothing and armor for all to see their shame. Naga have trouble understanding how anyone can live without magic and are fascinated by technology. In the last 100 years they began experimenting with various forms of technology and now lead the 5 galaxies in Technomancy. As such their world and its businesses are constantly "harassed" with sanctions and various red tape by Mega Corporations who seek to prevent their products from "Flooding" the markets. Visitors to Darmina 6 are subject to a one hour lecture on how visitors are expected to behave and what will and will not be tolerated. Anyone who feels their rights are being violated (or in some cases removed) can feel free to depart back to where they came. Visitors are expected to bow before the appropriate authorities and failure to do so can (and often does) be punishable by death. As a result of such rules tourism is notably light. |

| Species Kaerna Obsidian 2016/4/20 20:43 1594 1
The Reptilian Kaerna are one of the many species that inhabit the Sathari galaxy. Like their lesser evolved cousins they are susceptible to the cold and become lethargic. Their head tendril has amazing strength at nearly 4 times the rest of their body. it can be used in a prehensile fashion but it's true purpose is only evident during mating. The tendrils are where their reproductive organs are located. Interestingly enough their females possess mammary glands which is something of a scientific enigma and they bear their young live. The embryos are funneled to the abdomen where they develop over 14 months. Young Kaerna are like tadpoles having no limbs which develop over their first 2 years. Technologically hey have all the advantages of any world in the empire and their technological level is up to the galactic standard. |

| Species heigaran Obsidian 2014/2/22 4:46 1667 1
The Heigaran, are a a species of evolved feline who are one the most technologically advanced species within the five galaxies. They are most known for their highly advanced cybernetics and power armor which are incredibly powerful by any standards. Heigarans are quite fond of Solarans and Katarans as well as Ailoo and have an uneasy alliance with Lunari and Lycanthos. The average Heigaran stands an impressive 7 feet tall and weighs in around 500-600 lbs. Heigaran society is well a organized Patriarchy with a single Emperor ruling their world Hegarans are quite beastial having Beast like legs Claws and large sharp fangs the later two of which they use with deadly efficiency. Heigarans consider Biting and Clawing to be more than acceptable forms of combat and have been known to hunt with these natural weapons when better weapons are unavailable. Heigaran have an immense sense of personal honor and most can be taken at their word. As one would expect they are easily offended and seek satisfaction for even an imagined slight. Heigaran are also fierce warriors and revel in combat...they are not to be taken lightly when in combat and have perfected it to an art form. |

| Species Hathhiss.jpg Obsidian 2015/4/5 21:53 1744 2
The Hathhiss are a race of evolved serpents, bipedal serpents. They excell in psionics and magic and comprise a fifth of the Psi-Mage populace. they are much stronger than there size or dimensions would appear. They are also incredibly tall and max out at approximately 8 feet tall. Like all reptiles and serpents they become lethargic in cold temperatures and can die in temperatures just above freezing. their home planet is quite hot and arid and full of life. It is rumore (Totally true actually) that Hathhiss cannot eat cold food preferring to digest only warm (often living) food. Their bite as one might imagine is poisonous however, due to their large size it isn't lethal in and of itself and only causes nausea and unconsciousness. |

| Species Hatarian and Getraili .jpg Obsidian 2015/3/28 22:11 1543 1
Hatari (Violet)and Getraili (Blue) civilization is unusual in that where most space faring species come from unified worlds, they do not. The two species are at odds as the Hatari believe the Getraili to be inferior and treat them as second class citizens. Getraili have limited rights in Hatari systems and many have left their homeworld to find a life of acceptance within the IGFW. Relationships between the two are strictly forbidden, punishable by exile./ There are no male Hatari or Getraili and the species much the Ailoo can and often to breed with other viable humanoid species. Children born of Hatari and Getraili pairings are shunned in Hatari society and often bullied and ridiculed. Both Hatari and gatraili normally reproduce through a mental bonding as well as physical. Both species are hermaphroditic possessing both male and female organ though only one is prevalent at a time during mating. This particular feature has put off many off worlders who simply cannot fathom having two sets of opposing reproductive organs. It is possible for two mated Hatari or Getraili to become pregnant at the same time and it happens quite often but requires both partners to switch organs back and forth. This type of conception is frowned upon as it nearly lead to a massive overpopulation until Hatari started colonizing other worlds, still it is not considered wise as both partners suffer many handicaps as any woman during pregnancy. |

| Species Halfling or Go ahead, tell another Tolkien joke. Obsidian 2014/4/23 18:23 1951 4
Peaceful, and sedentary, are words commonly used to describe halflings. Halflings are descended from both Elves and Dwarves and until only recently were the two races "Dirty Little Secret". This combination was not thought possible due to the unlikelihood of the two species ever mating as both races have a strong dislike for the other in general (specific friendships not withstanding). Halflings possess abilities from both Dwarves and Elves and are aproximately the average height of the two being smaller than elves but larger than dwarves. Halflings have exceptional agilitysimilar to many elf species and are exceptionally hearty as are dwarves. They can see exceptionally well in darkness. Their hearing is also quite exceptional just like elves. Most folks believe Halflings to be simple folk and while that is mostly true many halfling adventurers do exist most of which are thieves of some note. |

| Species Hadean.jpg Obsidian 2014/12/17 18:10 1651 1
Hadeans are warriors and conquerors to the bone they live and breathe war and are born into a life of combat, they can be found among the ranks of most successful military forces and are very good at what they do, only what they do isn't very nice. The Hadean race took the brunt of the fallout from the Millennium wars. As a major ally of the Sathari Empire they were stunned to find their ally hang them out to dry. The Sathari claimed that the entire war was instigated by the Hadeans and that they were forced to participate. As a result the Hadeans were forced to pay restitution and reparations to the injured parties, they have no military of their own and won't until the last recorded survivor of the war dies and many of them are immortal. Until that day the Hadean military is under the joint control of The IFGW, The Andromedian concordat, and the Triangulum Union. The Hadeans pictured here are mercenaries (as many Hadeans are) the one on the left is half cyborg spider which is a common design in the Hadean military, the one on the right is sporting Hadean power armor. |

| Species Drachna Obsidian 2013/10/16 10:03 2436 1
The Drachna or Plural Drachnai, are a race of felines about the same size as the average human. However, they do have one significant dilemma, they emit low doses of radiation constantly. Exposure to this radiation is lethal after a few hours of exposure to any species not immune to radiation. The IGFW and the Drachna Council have passed laws requiring the use of protective suits when interacting with alien species. Their world is lush with vibrant blue plants due to high levels of Anthocyanin in nearly every species of plant-life on the planet. The plants themselves are immune to the effects of radiation and can grown in almost any environment. Drachna society is much like that of earth though there are fewer alien species which can survive in their harsh irradiated atmosphere. |
|
| Species Chauet Obsidian 2013/11/23 13:51 1846 4
The Chauet are a race of evolved Vampire bats whose food source is blood, a dietary trait called hematophagy. The Chauet has a short, conical muzzle and their features are still very animalistic. They lack a nose leaf, instead having naked pads with U-shaped grooves at the tip. Additionally they also have specialized thermoreceptors on its nose, which aid in locating warm blooded creatures, the Chauet can tune their vision to a TRP (Transient Receptor Potential)-channel that is already heat-sensitive this grants them the equivalent of Thermal Vision. Unlike their smaller cousins they do not possess echo-location abilities and instead have excellent vision. In addition to their Thermal Vision they also possess Night Vision like many predatory animals. The Chauet's technology is on par with that of the Galactic standard though they specialize in synthetic blood products. As one might expect their home world is heavily populated by Undead Vampires who the Chauet happily coexist with. There have of course, been several attempts by Undead Vampires to conquer the planet which have been thwarted by not only the Chauet but the now indigenous Undead as well. It is believed that the Planet Chaue will soon have the largest population of Vampires who are "afflicted" with "Daywalker Syndrome" if it doesn't already. |

| Species Centaur.jpg Obsidian 2015/9/6 16:06 1990 3
In appearance a Centaur appears to be a horse with a humanoid torso and a horse's neck and head. They speak their own language and that language is the same no matter what world they are found on. The Centaur races of the five galaxies are identical in every way no matter what world they are found on, there are some natural adaptations and color variations but these are few in number. On less developed worlds they are as savage as any species but more reclusive, on more developed worlds they are highly respected. On all worlds they are highly skilled warriors, and are highly skilled with ranged weapons of all kinds. Their eyesight is enhanced by normal standards and is similar to the eyes of a predatory bird. There are even a few worlds where they have advanced technology and those worlds are designed to accommodate them and seem quite alien to outsiders. It is possible to ride on a centaur's back but the need must be great or the friendship strong. All centaurs are somewhat claustrophobic and do not like confined spaces. As one might expect Centaurs are incredibly fast on land with an average top speed of about 65 mph. It is not known why all Centaurs are the same on every world where they are encountered but is believed they may have been placed on the various worlds by a single intelligence. |
|
| Species Archane.jpg Obsidian 2015/3/29 19:55 1751 4
Not all red-skinned winged creatures are evil denizens of the abyss. The Archane are one such example benevolent and kind, defenders of the weak they act as guardians and enforcers of the Gods of light. They are powerful warriors and equally powerful wielders of magic. They like all scions are imbued with their masters power and are an investment of divine energies...few enemies can even hope to survive an encounter with these mighty beings. Archane have no names and those that do have earned them through heroic deeds (Considering their power heroic is saying something). There are no Archane females and as divine creations there are no younglings, they have been known to fall in love with mortals and have cross bred with them on even rarer occasions. Archane are immortal and also divine and as such are immune to weapons of level 2 or less. Mortal weapons even those as powerful as nuclear or anti-matter simply have no effect on them and serve only to enrage them. Conventional and non-conventional damage weapons are simply useless. So powerful are Archane that they have been known to destroy small fleets of Starships singlehandedly and at least one documented Archane is responsible for wiping out an invading force of 150,000 men in just under an hour. One survivor of an encounter with n Archane put it simply...."If you see one of these guys, and he's not on your side, run...just run." |

| Solaran (Human) Obsidian 2013/10/25 5:32 1979 1
Solarans, formerly known as Humans, or Terrans, come from the planet Sloar-3 (also known as Earth) in the Solar System. Their average life span has been augmented to an astounding 300 years on average. Solarans can be found throughout the 5 galaxies in nearly every walk of life and populate (at least partially) nearly every civilized planet in existence. Solarans are unique in that there is no field of expertise thaey cannot occupy and other species tend to view them as ambitious and greedy as a result of constant expansion. Solarans are only as good or evil as any individual but seem to have a tendency towards selfish motives though a few rare ones are still altruistic. Solarans excel in all fields of technology and make up nearly half of the IGFW's main military forces. |

| Slave Trade Obsidian 2014/12/21 9:55 1371 0
Slave markets exist within the five galaxies but are only legal on one planet within the IGFW. There are laws which prevent the freeing of slaves within Federation space though often IGFW officers are unwilling to enforce them. In the Sathari empire Slavery has only recently been abolished at the behest of the new High Justiciar. However, despite those realms of freedom slavery still exists within the remaining three galaxies and most notably, within the Hadean Empire. At markets such as the one depicted, no weapons are ever allowed and special precautions are taken to ensure no magic can be used except for the very expensive slave control devices these markets are also incredibly well guarded.. |
