| BANZAI GIRL: TORN AMONG THREE WORLDS! JinkyCoronado Original Characters 2009/8/24 8:27 3923 6
My character Banzai Girl is caught among three worlds. In "real life," she's a schoolgirl worrying about homework, boys, and mythical monsters that have become all too real.
Meanwhile, her dreams alternate visions of herself as a Princess or as a Future Freedom Fighter.
And when all three realities intrude upon her, life becomes way too much to handle!
This is an art team-up, by the way. BATTLE OF THE PLANETS and WOLVERINE MANGA artist Wilson Tortosa worked on it with me.

| BANZAI GIRLS: GRITTY IN PINK! JinkyCoronado Original Characters 2010/3/25 23:29 3923 9
Hi! I put this up a few hours ago but it seems to have disappeared, so I'm re-posting it. Here we go! :)
Over the course of my writing and drawing BANZAI GIRL at Sirius and BANZAI GIRLS at Arcana, I was able to fill the series with all manner of monsters, creatures, and other foes for my namesake Jinky to fight -- everything from Asian monsters of myth and legend to giant Japanese robots. Essentially, I managed to include all the trappings of the genre.
The one thing missing from BANZAI GIRLS has been a bigger, badder female foe to cause Jinky grief. So when I decided to work on a new BANZAI GIRLS storyline, which should come out sometime in 2011, I promised myself to remedy that.
I decided to create a character that was a visual dichotomy: She would be someone severely dressed, goth-like, in spikes, a collar, spiked hair, tattoos, severe heels, and a punishingly-tight corset...and offset them by coloring them all in non-threatening, sweet shades of pink. Here's my first drawing of her: PINQUE!
Let me know what you think of her!

| BANZAI GIRL: CHAINSAW CHALLENGE! (Final) by Jinky Coronado JinkyCoronado Other Comics 2016/2/19 7:24 3892 4
...So here's Banzai Girl, presumably inspired by Ash from Evil Dead (which I've been watching), attacked by hell's minions. And poor ol' Wilfred is being no help!
Art by me, with colors by the always-terrific Katrina MaeHao.
My BANZAI GIRL adventures continue serialized on Keenspot. Check it from the beginning at: http://banzaigirl.keenspot.com/d/20120521.html

| BANZAI GIRL: SURPRISE GUEST! 2.0 (final) by Jinky Coronado JinkyCoronado Other Comics 2015/3/1 14:34 3878 6
The scene: As Banzai Girl dries off ofter a shower, her little sister Jasmine comes in to her bedroom to chat.
Way back in March 2010, I contributed the original version of this scene, which I intended for a BANZAI GIRL SPECIAL splash page. (Go check it out! I'll wait.)
The story was never completed.
Now, I've returned to that story, intending to finish it for release next year. This splash page is the first page I've redrawn, with new color by Katrina Mae Hao.
Let me know which version you prefer -- the original or this one!

| BANZAI GIRL: LOST ISLAND OF THE DARNED! JinkyCoronado Original Characters 2009/8/14 19:49 3867 3
After I posted my last commission for a fan, someone said I should've shown the creature that was attacking the boat that put me into such a precarious position.
This client agreed -- but wanted the scene to have a sense of humor.
He also insisted that he has strict dress code, and that the swimwear I wore in my previous client's commission looked far to big on me.
So here goes!

| BANZAI GIRL: OASIS OF THE SEAS! JinkyCoronado Original Characters 2010/3/1 21:06 3863 3
Today I booked a cabin on the world's largest cruise ship, the Oasis of the Seas, for a long-awaited vacation this Spring with my sister. I thought I'd commemorate the upcoming cruise with a "king of the world"-type illustration of my character on the front of the ship.
I can't wait! You're not able to join us, but you can at least share in this scene!

Hi! I thought I'd share with you the next page in the sequence I'm doing as part of the serialized free EXPOSURE series over at exposure.keenspot.com. Art by me, color by Katrina MaeHao.
I very much like how this scene turned out, where Shawna Diaz, dressed in an outfit slightly reminiscent of Velma, falls down the shattered stairs into the dark, scary cellar...
...and Alan Wong is there to break her fall!
Would you like to be in that same position to rescue her?
Tell me your thoughts!

| BANZAI GIRL & THE DEFUSER! JinkyCoronado Other Comics 2009/7/22 23:33 3862 5
Remember the TV series WHO WANTS TO BE A SUPERHERO? on the SciFi Channel last year, hosted by Stan Lee? My agent Glass House Graphics did all the artwork on both seasons of the TV show -- by the covers shown on-the-air and the resulting FEEDBACK and THE DEFUSER comicbooks that Dark Horse published.
As a result, I got to meet Jarrett "The Defuser" Crippen at multiple Conventions the past year, and he, his wife, and I have gotten to be friends. He was dead-serious on the show but MAJORLY funny in person -- and a great storyteller!
By the way, do you want to see photos of me with The Defuser, to show we're both real and both do conventions? There's a place here on Heromorph where I've posted info and photos about me for everybody who's been asking questions -- I'm with The Defuser there. This link may take you there (I hope) -- http://heromorph.com/heromorph2/modules/yogurt/album.php?uid=12325
Since I didn't get to draw a pinup or anything for Jarrett's comicbook earlier this year from Dark Horse, I promised him that I'd do a drawing of him and me battling crime and/or evil.
Here it is! Please let me know what you think...

| EXPOSURE: THEIR WORD IS BOND! by Jinky Coronado JinkyCoronado Other Comics 2015/2/20 20:42 3838 5
For a custom commission, an EXPOSURE fan wanted Lisa Shannon and Shawna Diaz as a secret agent and Bond girl, respectively.
So I gave it a classic Bon movie poster feel, with the pose, the gun, the tuxedo collar and cuffs, the elegantly-draped-on-the-bed girl, pearls, and even the classic Bond swirl.
I hope you like the results! Color by Santosh Rath.

| BANZAI GIRL: Her First Time! by Jinky Coronado JinkyCoronado Original Characters 2011/1/20 22:06 3810 2
Wow! I can't believe I just found this! This was the first-ever drawing I made of my character Banzai Girl, some years ago.
Sure, I'd done some other preliminary sketches, trying to get a cartoon version of my face, figure out the costume elements, skirt length, and so on....
...but this was the first drawing I ever did that put it all together in one place and even figured out the colors, skirt pattern, and the very careful way I wanted shaodws cast on the skintones, so that the skirt would cast a shadow on her legs, and so forth, to give the art more depth.
Cute, unknowingly sexy, a little clumsy, silly fun -- I think it all came together here.
Thoughts?

I don't eat much candy, and neither do Shawna Diaz and Lisa Shannon of EXPOSURE. (Check out their serialized comics adventures for FREE over at exposure.keenspot.com, by the way.)
So it only makes sense that, given an oversized lollipop, they'd share it rather than one of them taking the whole thing, right?
Very practical -- and tasty, too!

| Dangerous Secrets! by Jinky Coronado JinkyCoronado Other Comics 2012/4/8 19:57 3699 5
As David Campiti and I were working on the recent EXPOSURE story that appeared over at keenspot.com, we were engaged in a flashback sequence of sorts. For a while, we played with the idea of revamping the entire series to make the character high-school age and restarting it from scratch as "Dangerous Secrets."
This is the cover idea I came up with, showcasing Lisa and Shawna as schoolgirls, adding vampires, and coming up with a whole new logo.

| HOT WINGS! (FInal version) by Jinky Coronado JinkyCoronado Other Comics 2013/5/17 14:42 3619 5
Imagine: Three young woman, A stripper, a streetwalker, and an addicted dropout, kidnapped off the streets from their less-than-fruitful lives. They become aware they are in a strange hospital, strapped into operating tables with tubes transferring liquids to their veins from the body of a beautiful, winged aqua-colored alien who lies in a coma.
Months later, they become conscious, only to discover they have changed. They have grown wings! Their entire bodies swim with europhoric feelings and moods beyond what they can comprehend. And they are trained by mysterious Overlords, both broken and empowered to an end they cannot fathom...
...until they take flight and do battle against the legions of hell itself. The Devil has erupted from the Earth itself, and she is pissed!

| EXPOSURE: ALTERED LIVES! by Jinky Coronado JinkyCoronado Other Comics 2011/12/31 23:19 3599 5
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Starting today, my first full comic book story in quite a while is appearing online. EXPOSURE: ALTERED LIVES is written by David Campiti and illustrated by me, and the entire story will appear on a 3-pages-a-week schedule for FREE at exposure.keenspot.com.
This is sort of an event. A whole bunch of issues of EXPOSURE were drawn in 1998 - 2000 by superstar sexy girly artist AL RIO for Image Comics, and he gave me the stamp of approval to pick up the pencil and be the one to continue the adventures of Lisa Shannon and Shawna Diaz, the characters he and Dave created.
The series is a cross between FRINGE and CHARLIE'S ANGELS and is a while lot of fun! And the tagline is "Revealing what lies beyond the truth"
Here's the cover art! It features all the main characters and is drawn by me, with coloring by Katrina MaeHao.
I hope you like it and take the time to check out the free series on keenspot. And yes, I said WHOLE SERIES. There are HUNDREDS of sexy Al Rio pages of EXPOSURE there for you Heromorph fans, for free!
Great way to start 2012, right?
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

| EXPOSURE & BANZAI GIRL: WHO'S THEIR DADDY? (Final) by Jinky Coronado JinkyCoronado Other Comics 2014/4/1 7:29 3575 2
As you all know, I both write and draw my own free serialized online comic book BANZAI GIRL on banzaigirl.keenspot.com and draw the sexy supernatural series EXPOSURE on exposure.keenspot.com.
I'm working right now on preparing a hardcover EXPOSURE Volume 2 collection to be released this fall, and the last piece needed was a caricature of EXPOSURE's writer and creator, David Campiti. So I came up with the idea of him being fawned over by his creations Lisa Shannon and Shawna Diaz from EXPOSURE, while my own self-named BANZAI GIRL character Jinky Coronado is miffed at the lack of attention she's getting.
I hope you like the results! Art by me, with coloring by Katrina MaeHao.

| BANZAI GIRL: (UN)DRESSING JINKY by Jinky Coronado JinkyCoronado Other Comics 2013/4/14 16:20 3564 4
I've gotten a bunch (well, four so far) of Emails asking me, "When are you going to do a paper doll for BANZAI GIRL?"
So the answer is: RIGHT NOW! :)
So my character, the named-after-myself schoolgirl Jinky Coronado, is showcased here in my most elaborate dress-up yet!
If you're not familiar with BANZAI GIRL, check out her serialized FREE comicbook series at banzaigirl.keenspot.com
* SCHOOLGIRL JINKY -- With long pigtails, slouchsocks and heels, tight fitted blouse and necktie, and regulation skirt for the very strict Heromorph dress code.
* FUTURE FREEDOM FIGHTER JINKY -- With flowing hair, gold boots, action blouse and battle gloves and, of course, the requisite skirt.
* PRINCESS JINKY -- With gown and hair, high heels, royal jewelry, heels, and cheongsam.
Yeah, I know it's a little strange seeing a BALD Jinky for the figure, but it was the only way to be able to swap hairstyles appropriate to each incarnation of the character!
I hope you like it! -- My way of easing your stress of April 15th Tax Day!

AS you probably know, I've been drawing brand-new EXPOSURE stories over on Keenspot.com -- PLUS, my BANZAI GIRL series is launching on Keenspot next week.

| BANZAI GIRL: THE MOVIE! by Jinky Coronado & Friends JinkyCoronado Other Comics 2012/1/23 13:51 3446 5
This is one of my favorite-ever pieces, and I had LOADS of help with this one.
Awhile back, when I first joined Heromorph, I posted a really basic version of this as a stand-alone manip. It was a small image and didn't get much response from anyone at the time. Now I've tweaked it and found a good use for it.
Some details: This began as a photo of me, actually wearing the tight, tiny Banzai Girl costume. In the photo shoot, we even had a fishing line to pull up my skirt for the always-helpful undies shot. And, of course, a fan was always blowing.
My "Team Banzai" friends did much of the photomanip work on this, working from -- and over -- my layout and drawing.
Then Jason Perkins, an amazing fellow Heromorpher, did the design work on this to turn it into a movie poster, even interpeting my BANZAI GIRL logo into some more fitting for a film. A big 27" x 40" print of this is proudly hanging in my house!
My hope is we will soon be able to show this in some Hollywood meetings to see if we can get some interest in an actual BANZAI GIRL movie.
Hope you like it as much as I do!
