Re: Very interesting Information on how the USA plans to break the internet

I would actually like to see these things go through, mostly out of morbid curiousity.
The U.S. government has proven itself to be mostly irrelevant over the past decade. It went into an astounding level of debt fighting wars no-one wanted and that did not improve anything. It failed to stop an obvious financial problem and then failed to fix it once the economy went into meltdown.

So imagine these laws pass. Does anyone think Google, a company that stood up to the Chinese government, will just roll over? I imagine what will happen is the law will pass and internet companies will simply decide to ignore it.
What would the government do? Do they have police who actually know how to shut Google down? Are they going to arrest every ISP and user who has ever downloaded a torrent? They're going to run into a problem when they realise the Internet is international and their laws don't apply overseas.

The U.S. government will look like a bunch of old men shouting for everyone to do what they say and being completely ignored. That would be cool to see.
