How long did it take me to figure out how to use it as a digital painting/photomanipulation tool? Almost nothing.
How long did it take me to figure out how to use it to draw? I'll let you know when I've figured it out.
It's definitely better than using a mouse, and is great if used in something like Illustrator which allows for fine corrections. But pencil and paper still feels more natural for freehand drawings, on the rare occasions when I do them.
