Absolutely! I've watched the video several times now, and the more I see it, the more ideas I come up with for how to use the brush settings. Instead of concentrating on filters, layers styles and actions, brushes will shorten and simplify how I've been doing stuff for a while now.

I actually dabbled a bit with it before, but never thought about the other applications.
In my entry for the 1000 words, the rain I made in photoshop was from brushes I had made for the Rainy Days and Grundy's piece a few months back. For that rain brush, I had messed around with the scattering, angles and other brush settings...and never even contemplated how to do the same for fur, hair, and now (thanks to your suggestion) even textures!
I can see leather, wrinkles, cracks, and various other cloth textures in my head already!


Boy, I'm eager to try new stuff now...
