Avatars???

Do you have to be a GOLD MEMBER to upload your own avatar or is this something that will be made available once you have "X" amount of posts or "X" amount of gallery images??? I'm kool w/ paying my dues, but I'm kinda annoyed that I had to pick one from a list. Korgoth was GREAT and all, but I want my own avatar.;p
