It will fall flat on it's face. Complete with a running of the bulls and many....... a great many people stepping in their own sh!t and smiling about it.
Seriously, People don't say Christopher Reeves died. They say Superman died. He's still too deeply ingrained in everyone's mind for them to be able to make a reboot work.
