This is a tough one, because it's almost like making an Amalgam character, except that it's the son or daughter of two characters from different companies instead of just mashing two existing characters together into a cool blend. You get sort of the same end result in your merging, but you need to come up with the reasoning why the offspring would be a blend of one or both parents with is the real trick here.
