An entry fee. Everyone pays e.g. $2 via Paypal to the judge or a moderator who isn't competing. Then the moderator buys something for the winner.
Slight problem with elimination competition, what if 2 really good artists are against each other in the first round? One of them will be eliminated when their artwork may have been good enough to come second overall.
