My first thought on seeing this news item was "Oh, so Marvel is ripping off THE DEATH OF SUPERMAN a decade late?"
Over at ClassicMarvel.com Halo68 had this to say--

Each character will have abilities/powers that pertain somehow to the concept of the American Dream (hell, that could even be the name of one of the them), then slowly they will all be revealed to not be Cap, wait I am being handed a news flash here, excuse me. reads the copy, hmm, err.... It's been done, sorry, it's been done before,i thought i was on to something.
