Re: The galleries

Subject: Re: The galleries
by Winterhawk on 2008/2/15 20:22:37

galleries have been fixed. We had to re-write some the the php code that was in the galleries controls as the server we are on at the moment uses a more upto date version of php and some of the code in our hacked gallery modules was a little old.

Big thanks to Brick for finding the code line so that we could fix this problem,......

On to the next bug.

OK everyone please note that gif files and png files are no longer being accepted into the galleries. for animated gif makers, feel free to post in the scetch forum by hosting the file elsewhere and hotlinking it into the forum.
Optimization is the key to success. Most graphics programs come with an optimization method for images. Photoshop itself comes with a great tool for this. the smaller in file size your image is the less bandwidth we use.

People will tell you that you are going to lose image quality, this simply is not the case. most of the time file sizes can be cut in half or even more with no difference in the visible image. the reason. Computers like to save a bunch of crap that isn't really to do with the image itself.

Optimize and be a pal. every KB in file size reduced is a kb in bandwidth saved.
