I like it too but it's not a super-villain/hero origin in any way IMHO...

But I also think it's a good thing all the attention is getting and no one can deny that it's a refreshing look at the character, although the "real" Joker is insane, completely bananas without the need to justify why he does what he does.
We just know he's the Jokes and no other explaination is required.
And that's one thing that made not beleive the movie Jokes is the real deal. And I hope they keep it as it is and due to the sucess of the Joker, don't start bringing Batman and the rest of the comics universe into it...
We already have a internet theory about Bruce running around that I hope no director think about it... no matter how interesting could be in a movie...

But that's me and my 2cents...

I was wanting to see this and not really paying any attention to critics and other peoples cause they were not comic book people.
SSoooo Now I really don't know what to do.
There were peoples that weren't so big on Ant-Man either but in Truth I found it equal to or better than Avenges#2 "Age of Ultron" and here I was wondering why though Ant-Man why Hope had a Janet Van Dyne hair doo.
Then the egg the credits were Dad gives Hope the New Wasp Suit.
That's good I like Evangeline Lily and I think she will make a good Wasp for up coming Movies.

I too was confused about the ending of Flash and also posed the argument of present events being changed when Eddie shot himself. The only conclusion I came up with that made any sense was that Eddie Thawne not dead, Eobard is not dead or rather they were dead. Obviously Eddie died but whose to say what happened to his body once he was sucked into the time wormhole? Possibly he was thrust somewhere where he was brought back to life and then eventually set back in motion the events that lead us back to where we are. I'm sure the writers considered all of this especially when the main theme of the story deals with time travel and the chain of events that follows. I mean if Eobard is dead then the Flash's biggest adversary is dead and as you said nothing would be the same. So it's only logical to assume that Eddie will survive. As for the helmet...this one threw me off for a moment itself. I frankly don't think it's Jay Garrick's helmet. I mean what connection does he and Thawne have? Have they even met? For all we know it very well could be the Kingdom Come Wally West which would make much more sense to me.

I managed to see the pilot episode of this show just yesterday, and pretty much everything Darth Paul said here is spot on.

Overall, I wasn't impressed, it's no "Smallville" and it seems like there's an attempt to match "The Flash" and "Arrow" (at least with the production value), but the story needs work.

How'd I see the pilot?

I find it funny that in the trailer the have: "From the studio that brought you -X-men days of future past" But the from the studio part is tiny and only on screen for about a fraction of a second but the X-men name and logo are huge and linger for a long time, but no one from X-men is involved in this film at all.

The trailer did absolutely nothing to get me excited about the film or to diminish the concerns that I have of this production. I appears they have made so many changes why do they even want to call it fantastic four.

I know there is a "style" to Anime... but the word "Anime" just means "Animation" in Japan. So, technically, Loony Toons is Anime.

I have to agree with Hub on this one... man, I couldn't wait for Battle of the Planets.

Funny thing, about a week ago I found all my old Shogun Warrior toys: Great Mazinga, Raider, Dragun and Poseidon.
I don't remember watching a cartoon. Was there one?
Oh, I also found my old Micronaut Baron Karza white and black version in the same box. It was an exciting find!

OH, and since I don't like the new style stuff, I would prefer that they don't butcher any of my favorite titles and turn them into an anime series.

I've seen Palicki in the third and "final" costume for the pilot, and given the differences in the metal pieces on the costume, it's actually pretty close to the Lynda Carter version, and in some ways better.

I'd echo others and suggest that it would be nice if NBC or the CW aired at least the pilot even if not picking up the series, and at the very least release the pilot on the net similar to how the Aquaman pilot was handled.

They have a series on Discovery or Travel or one of those channels called "Lost Tapes" It is based on "real life" found tapes and it is about monsters and sh!t. I find that show interesting and fun to watch because it is only 30 minutes long. (or is it an hour...) If it was any longer it would be unwatchable. I find it funny though that these "lost tapes" are shot from 3 and 4 points of views. Hell, one lost tape was of a girl that disappeared on her boat and it was videoed from a helicopter. HAHA. SOOOOO stupid... but entertaining.

Now as for the movies. Yup... I don't really like them. They have one or two moments that might make you jump... but as a whole they are pretty boring.

hey kids,

just rented a REAL interesting movie called MAN
BITES DOG aka C'EST ARRIVE PRES DE CHEZ VOUS
(which translates to IT HAPPENED IN YOUR TOWN).
Benoit is a charming, likeable killer who takes
a camera crew through a typical day of killing
while discussing music, art, poetry, etc. as
the movie goes on, the crew helps him out from
helping him dump the bodies to partaking in a
rape scene. we also learn that he has made a
few enemies in his line of work, so it is really
no surprise that he meets a violent demise at
the end. of course, as the crew slowly becomes
as bad as Benoit, one feels little sympathy when
they are gunned down as well. in all a VERY odd,
yet entertaining in a very twisted way as the
film satirizes how the media makes serial killers
almost icons. just wondering who here saw it and
what did they think?

My initial thought of this particular Spidey suit was that it was a hybrid of The Ben Reilly Spiderman and the "House of M" Spiderman with a wee bit of the Alex Ross design mixed in there, to me it just looked odd. It almost looks as if they've tried to make it look like a suit you'd see those slapnuts riding around on crotch rockets wearing, with a slight lean towards a "plating" look. The webs are wrong on the suit, but at least they've gone back to the webshooters, I hated that whole organic web thing. Really, if the webs were organic, why didn't they come out his arse? Genetic mutation IS NOT going to manipulate the body so that webs will come out the wrist.. that's just asinine.

I have little to say about the plot of the film, since all we've gotten so far is who has been cast and previews of the suit, but I'm hoping.. if anything...they do it right this time. Raimi's films ALL twisted continuity way out of proportion. I'd like to see that NOT happen with this new film.

So let's think about the new players in the game. Tobey's gone... never liked him as Parker anyway, sure he embraced the whole dorkiness and awkwardness of a brainy kid turned Spiderman, but he embraced it just a little too much... and Dunst is gone, who in my opinion was not perfect for MJ, but damn she was hot... and of course I have to thank them for not recruiting Megan Fox into ANY roles on this film.

I'm hoping for a kickass redux here, even if I don't like the costume.
And with Disney's involvement, I'm hoping there won't be any "breaking out in song" or Elton John music.

The Hulk series was good for it's day, but they better not just get a body builder and paint him green. I'll give Cloak and Dagger a chance. Can't be any worse the some of the stuff mentioned in that other post. They're also talking about a new Wonder Woman TV series. I'm very afraid of that. If it sucks it will kill any chance of a big budget movie.

FYI to any fans of the show or those who may be interested in seeing it, the second season is currently available for instant watching through Netflix, for those who are able to stream to your TV.

I know, you're saying, "why would I want to start with the second season?" Well, with this particular show, the second season was REALLY the first regular season. Season 1 took the form of 4 made for TV movies that aired on Showtime in the U.S. under the name "Tales From A Parallel Universe", and they weren't very good. The necessary backstory is given in the first episode of the regular series, and trust me, it's all you really need to see from those original movies.

Did a google search on this project and found out that this "trailer" was part of a pitch to WB from a director to see if they would let him reboot the Mortal Kombat francise. The problems that came afterwards was a legal battle about who actually currently has the rights to make a Mortal kombat movie. so this particular trailer probably will never become more then what it is.

I laughed as I walked the halls before the show. You could hear the generation gap in the two sets of movies. The old foggies, like me, were talking about how it was a shock that Darth Vader was Luke's father... while the young whipper-snappers were talking about how it shocked them that Anakin turned into Darth Paul....Errr... Darth Vader!

Man, it was an absolute visual and audio orgasm. (can I say that here? )

screw that. none of the movies listed so much as made me tear up, in fact few of the movies listed in this thread got so much as a swellin in the heart...... but lets take some movies like "The Patriot" and "Signs" with Mel Gibson. Two particular scenes stuck with me.
1. "The Patriot" when the red-coats kill his boy....... moving.
2. "Signs" the scene where his wife dies... moving. O.K. so Mel Gibson is a bit of a
douche..ah so what....his acting is supreme.... and then there's Will Smith in "Hancock" right
right there close to the end, struggling to his feet so he could save Charlize Theron's character
and himself from dying.... very moving.

of course there's those listed in the thread...

2. John Q
3. I Am Legend
all brought a bit of a tear.

You're saying you rather see a chopped inconsistant version of the origin and pre-x-men times of Wolverine [which was gawd awful and although not the worst of the year but the most disappointing] than seeing Magneto, Juggernaut [although a somewhat lame version] but most of all the unrelenting power of Dark Phoenix? C'mon you just had to love how she blew away a wimpy Cyclops and disentergrated Prof. X. Not to mention seeing fulltime action from both Iceman and Shadowcat. Excellent stuff.

I agree. When you basically use the same acting crew for 3 movies you've put the audience in a comfort zone where they not only recognize all the players but they feel a certain amount of kinship with the characters. Frankly I think Toby Maquire makes for a perfect Peter Parker and eventhough initially I hated Dunst as Mary Jane, she grew on me. I can understand to a small extent the need for a reboot since the 3rd movie was so bad, but all they need to do is take more time on the script and try to keep it more true to the comic. Does this now mean that they are going to re-tell his origin? Frankly I would hate that. A reboot of Venom would help [Topher Grace really sucked] and take the time to choose the right villain. Who do you think would make a perfect villain this time around?

The game looks cool, and they've got the Voice Acting just right (since it's the same actors as the film), but beyond that it's very repetitive.

Basically:
1) Clear area of Goons
2) Door opens
3) Go To 1.

A little variety would have been welcome, especially since they put a decent amount of effort into the story and graphics.

I might get it if I can find it cheap enough, but not before then!

While it might make for a film that's just a funny as the comic, it would probably have to be rated "R" for all the mature themes in it. The immortal guy always trying to kill himself, Big Bertha having to suffer from bulemia just to revert back to normal, Flatman being gay. It would have to be watered down a lot to make it viable for the general public, and I'm not sure that anyone would want to see a GLA film rated PG-13 or R. Tough call.

Hmmm...
let's see...yeah, Jolie maybe a hottie, but her personality keeps her from being good in either role.
Not dark enough for any character in the Sin City series, of which I am a huge fan.
And seeing as how Catwoman is my favorite all-time DC character, (yeah PG has bigger assets, so she's in the top 5),
I just don't see Angie as the fit for Selina.
She's been great in some of her movies, and horrible in others.
This kind of inconsistency has warped my opinion of her acting skills, and thus has left me unwilling to accept her in the Pussycat Prowler role.

OK, anybody buying any of that?
Just trying to exercise my B.S. degree.

Seriously, though, I think she might do better in the Sin City
flick than as Catwoman.
But let's see Selina done right. Pfeiffer came close to pulling it off, the attitude was close in quite a few scenes.

And one of the best ever was Julie Newmar.

Now if we can get a current version of the two mixed...

And yeah, definitely don't make the movie if the script sucks!

I liked the movie. Even more so when I compare it to most other comicbook-movies. They nailed the look of it, and kept most of the story. Mostly good acting too.

I think they put more focus on extended action scenes than was necessary, but it might make it more fun for the non-fans that go see it.

Also not a fan of the new ending. I can understand why they felt they had to change it, but I just didn't like what they did with it.

Well Watchmen was out and I enjoyed it.
Before the movie it had a Wolverine trailer and one for Terminator as well.
Both looked really good. Wolvy looks like it may suffer from an over abundance of characters though. To many all at once. now this was my original fears for the first x-men movie as well and they pulled that off really well. So I know I will be going to see this one at the theater as well when it is out.
Terminator, I dunno, after seeing this new trailer, I was kinda blah. I don't know. Not impressed. There seemed to be an awful lot of force intensity in the trailer and it left me with less of a desire to see the movie. I think the concept if kinda old and tired now. I know I will see it but I most likely will wait for video now.
