Hey, everyone.
I was just wondering how everyone came up with his or her usernames. (And what they mean, if anything)

Before Heromorph, I was very inconsistent with my usernames, using different ones at different sites. This lead to problems because I would forget what my username was at a particular site, when I wanted to go back. So when I came to heromorph, I knew I would return so I wanted to think of something I would never forget and that was Superhero related. After going threw the names of my favourite characters from the comic books I decided to take the name of an original character That I made long, long ago. Winterhawk was the central character in many pictures and stories I did through out my teen and young adult years.

How about the rest of you guys?

I think my roomate was watching dragonball z when I registered. Pretty lame story, huh? I'd like to change it, but I don't seem to be able to.
But what I want to know is, when do we get to see what the 'original' Winterhawk looks like?

Vlad Vizz, the Wizard, of the Wizard's Lair bestowed it upon me to protect my secret identity, about 3 years ago. I am found at Wizard's Lair, Scarlet's Sanctum, Ivy's SHID, the BatGirl BatTrap, and stolen throughout the internet w/o attribution...

My nickname was also a password I used whenever on the net. I would create passwords by joining two words together that I figured never were used together before. and sounded cool.
Waay before the movie, I got the "matrix" from a sci-fi novel called shadowrun. In the book, the internet has become a virtual reality, where people jacked in by attaching a cable directly to their temples. This virtual plane of existance was often referred to as the matrix.
The "blur" was simply to represent the wonderful filters in Photoshop.
After a while, I thought "matrixblur" would make a good superhero, and added him to the list of original characters I've created, and gave him physical form. Since then, I've grown accustomed to using him as my avatar whenever I'm "jacked in".

No, it is not after the band! My mind tends to wonder to darker, more morbid thoughts. But I didn't want to call myself Death, or anything like that. I do have a mild interest in Greek mythology, and liked the idea of going by Charon, the ferryman, but decided to use Styx instead. It is the most commonly named river when desribing Hades, it is also associated with darker morbid thoughts, and it does roll off the tongue beter than Charon does. I also use this handle on other sites.

Oops! Accidentally started a new thread the first time, instead of adding to this one. Oh well, "If you can't laugh at yourself then you might as well be dead." - me

Um.. quite honestly I dont know.
I'm loath to sign up for anything on the internet since so much of it gathers grief... but I couldnt resist the temptation to try this photomaniping thing.
I picked a name out of thin air, posted my first pic, and lo-and-behold, I was hooked.
So Im stuck with my silly 'tryout' name and I'm sticking with it still... Simple, monosyllabic... Its like butter!

(only its not as tasty on toast.. and um.. butters not monosyllabic).

I was wondering after our conversation about this very thing when you were going to post this question?
Well mine came from after many times trying to register a user name on some other site, where as my own name was used & other forms of it too?
I was looking about the room to find a name & looked down at my Dragon Shirt (to which I have many!) & combined it and my own name !
I now use it alot on other sites too!

Mine comes from my website and the fact that every other name I thought up was already taken. Optical Intrusion was a play on Optical Illusion. Because, you know, Wolverine66987 was already taken.

(I've never been satisfied with ANY user name I've had.)

I've been riding motorcycles for half my life. I used to collect robots back in the 80's when all the cool Japanese robots first started showing up in the States.
Never had a character with that name, though. Unless you count myself.

I just hate adding numbers to my screennames or email addresses so I tried to come up with something to reflect my habit (netsurfing) that wasn't taken or would require numbers. I was reminded of Gary gnu and no Gnus is Good gnus or somethimg like that from some show i watched as a kid, and there you go. Gnetsurpher! With a ph instead of f, because... um...... because ph IS the new F, as in phat! Ok, that works.

Mine is the result of a lack of originality years ago on the day I hooked up to the internet. It's just a mix of letters from my first and last names, not very significant but at least I can always remember my screen name.

"SleepEnemy" is short for "Sleeping With The Enemy", which refers to my favorite theme when doing manips: Heroines having sex with villains.

There have been various incarnations of Quinn (often spelled Qynn)... but almost all involve a thief, a rogue, a scoundrel of some sort...

From D&D, to online games... Quinn grins on.
