So Buffy tells me that Joss Wedon is still busy writing Buffy The Vampire Slayer Season 8.

Season 8? What are you talking about? I thought 7 was the end of it.

Welp, she goes on to say that Season 8 is not gonna be on tv. It's gonna be a comic book. Ok, so I go digging and find out she's right. Dark Horse Presents is doing it.

Then yesterday I make a trip up to my local comic shop and see that my favorite trilogy "The Dragonlance Chronicles" is still going strong as a comic book. What got my attention the most tho is the fact it's not stopping there. I picked up a freebee with the title Marvel Dabel Brothers Sampler. Just on the front I see the names Laurell K. Hamilton, George R. R. Martin, Monte Cook, Raymond E. Feist, Orson Scott Card, Kinley Macgregor, and R. A. Salvatore.

Those of you who hate to read.... George R. R. Martin does a fantasy series called A Song of Ice and Fire. R. A. Salvatore is the reason you love drow elves, with his Dark Elf Trilogy involving the character Drizzt Do'Urden. Raymond E. Feist did Magician Apprentice and Magician Master. And I'm ashamed you're alive if the name Orson Scott Card doesn't make you think science fiction.

So basically I'm stunned that all these novels are now being done in comic book form. And wondering how many pieces of art will get deleted because they didn't originate as comic books.

I read something somewhere, but can't remember where that The Jungle Book was getting the classic novel to comic book treatment by Marvel or Dark Horse or one of the other big companies that are all into this novel to comic book kick right now. If this is true, I would love to check it out since that is my all time favorite book, and much much better than the silly Disney version, and as much as I like the silly Disney version, I'd rather see a serious comic book adaptation according to the more serious original novel. Lord of the Rings and other Tolkein books would be great to see in comic format as also would many of the various Star Wars novels of late.

Hey, what's wrong with Disney's Jungle Book? How can you go wrong with the late Louis Prima singing "I Wan'na Be Like You"?:

Oh I'm the king of the swingers,
Boy, the jungle VIP.
I've reached the top, and had to stop,
and that's what botherin' me!
I wanna be a man, mancub,
and stroll right into town.
I'll be just like the other men;
I'm tired of monkeyin' around!

Oh, oobee doo!
I wanna be like you!
I wanna walk like you,
Talk like you, too!
You'll see it's true,
that an ape like me
Can learn to be, like a human too!

Nothing at all man, nothing at all? I guess you could say that it's got all the "Bare Necessities"
Look for the bare necessities
the simple bare necessities
forget about your worries and your strife
I mean the bare necessities
Oh,mother natures recipies that brings the bare necessities to life.

Wherever i wonder,wherever i rome
i cant be fonder of my big home!
The bees or buzzing in the trees
To make some hunny just for me,
when you look under the rocks and plants
take a glace at the fancy ants.
and maybe try a few!

The bare necessities of life will come to you,
they'll come to you.

Look for the bare necessities the simple bare necessities
Forget about your worries and your stife
i mean the bare necessities,
thats why a bear can rest at ease
with just the bare necessities of life
Now when you pick a par paw for a pricky paw
and you prick a wrong paw
well next time bewear
dont pcik the pricky pear with s prciky paw
try to use the claw,
But you dont need to use the claw when pcik a pear,
off the big paw paw,Have i given you a clue?

The bare necessities of life will come to you,
They'll come to you.

Just bought Stephen King's Dark Tower graphic novel. The art is done by Jae Lee and it's pretty good. I normally can't stand Stephen King's writing because he's one of those who "describes to the point of distraction". But so far I'm enjoying this. Hell, there's even a photoshop coloring tutorial in the back.

Also, I've been collecting World War Hulk and The Hedge Knight. The Hedge Knight is too early in the story to tell whether it's good or not. But WWH is freakin awesome! He's straight beating the hell outta EVERYBODY!!!!

Beyond that, I've been somewhat on a novel binge. I've gone through Homeland by R.A. Salvatore, The Elenium Trilogy by David Eddings, I Robot by Isaac Asimov, and the 1st book of the Tamuli by David Eddings.

So, what are you guys reading?

Well, I've been in a sci-fi mood lately, so I'm reading Eden from Stanislaw Lem and one of my all time favs: Waldo.

My favourite novel is ChickenHawk, and I recently re-read that.
(it's a true story of a helicopter pilot in Vietnam, and it's amazing)

But I've just started a new one, full of intrigue and suspense.
So far I have Seen Spot.
I can't wait to get back to it, I think he's going to do something.
