Yeah, but we all know as in Hollywoodland it is most likely gonna suck as the most guys that produce and direct the new Superhero movies take their creative lisence to a whole new level having never read the books?
Remember Joss said he was not going to use the traditional costume?

He did say he wasn't going to use the granny-panties from the Lynda Carter costume. And would we want him to? He did clarify afterwards that he recognizes the traditional costume as something extremely important and intrinsic to the character, and he was committed to trying to come up with a version of that costume that works. But while the TV show costume design was very faithful to the costume, and quite revealing for it's day, it's a design that would look pretty ridiculous in 2006. A design more authentic in terms of materials available to the Themyscirans, like lots of leather, and higher cut shorts (although a thong is far too revealing IMHO) or even a leather strap skirt (Think Roman Legionaire type) in colours less Day-Glo is a direction I'd suspect Whedon will take. And in the end, I think he'll satisfy most of us.

Which usually happens because they don't know much about the character to begin with. Take the Spiderman movie, it was successful because the guy in charge was a huge Spidey fan. That's the first step. Then you need people to work on the movie who really know how to make a good movie period. Take good actors, and a good script and you've got a good foundation for good Wonderwoman movie. ***********************************************************

Actually no I didn't, but being a Canucklehead living north of the border, I'm not sure we even got it broadcast up here. As for your other comments I'd say you are dead on. Sam Raimi made some great Spidey films because he loves Spider-Man. Pete Jackson did the same with LoTR, and even King Kong (which was overlong but good otherwise IMHO). Chris Nolan with Batman, and Richard Donner with Superman. All fine proof of your assertions. At least Whedon seems to have great respect for the character, and does great female protagonists. I'm confident that whatever he does will be faithful to the franchise.

To be quite honest, I hadn't noticed where you were from... But being as I'm in Toronto, we MIGHT not have gotten it here, or else I just missed it. But then I tend to avoid most of the lower numbered channels on cable a lot of the time so that wouldn't be that surprising either...

I agree with you, DD...on the first two points that you make here.  My problem is the statement about the script. What you have mostly are the clowns out there who think THEY can do a great script with their heads up their as--butts ( sorry; I'll try and keep it clean...hate to force JrMcD. to have to "broom and dustpan" around here ) instead of sitting down and doing research. Without the right research...you might as well call it a day. Take my 'The Alpha Solution' campaign for the rpg "The Morrow Project". I even went so far as to spend almost a month talking to the Sociology, ROTC, Geology, and Physics departments down at the University of Toledo. I wanted what effects a nuke war would have on the Northern California, Oregon, and Washington sector of this country I belong to as realistic as is possible. Some of the players said "OVERKILL!"...but, they all said it was a kick-butt campaign to go through. Now, if some of these jerks would be willing to sit down, peruse...oh, a 2-3 year run of a good comic book ( say..."Green Lantern" as an example ) you'd have a movie worth seeing over and over again ( like "The Magnificant Seven"...you can tell that John Ford, the director, did a fuc--heck of a lot of research on that one...as well as watching the original ( "Seven Saumari" ) over and over again. But...since they won't...you might as well throw in the towel. Anyone else wanna put in their two cents worth? Oh, yeah...Darian Caine ( actress, 'Alternative Cinema' ) For WW; and Conan O'Brien for Steve Trevor

Yep, that's the lady in question!  As a minor note, I have, with the exception of the two indies that you mention here, everything Darian has done so far for Seduction Cinema, including their newest release, "Kinky Kong" ( don't ask ) :spotless: But, DD, what about the statement I make about the research? Don't you, as a well-known 'man-about-Heromorph', have any thoughts on that factor? You can get Darian...have a $200,000,000 budget...the best F/X possible...a director as good as Peter Jackson...and with a script that's not even good as toilet paper, you get nuttin' but litter box droppings!  Oh, well...at least we know what we are doing around here...I think  ( Conan's available, by the way... )
