I'll probably see this, though not sure how good it will be.
I was never very interested in the Johnny Blaze character.

Think it might have been miscast, the comics portray Johnny as younger (and blonder).

When watching Nicolas Cage it always feels like he's playing the same charcater; 'Nicolas Cage'.

Obviously I am biased (), but I think it looks pretty good. Cage is a decent B-level actor, he should be able to pull it off, ham-wise.

I liked the one second shot in the trailer where the old and new Riders are riding next to each other, that looks tre cool...

I'm always intrigued by the inevitable discussion with every new "comic book" movie that is announced or released. Most of the discussions center around whether it'll be any good (casting, acting, story, directing, effects, etc., etc.) and whether the person will see it in the theatre.

The question of whether the movie is good or bad is so subjective, I won't even try to argue about it.

All I can say is that I'm one of those people who is absolutely thrilled to see movies being made that are finally able to deliver on the wish-fulfillment of comic books brought to life.

Starting with Superman, they proved that these stories and characters could be made into exciting, entertaining, and even meaningful, thoughtful movies.

So, I ALWAYS plan to see these movies in the theaters. These larger-than-life stories are meant to be seen on the big screen.

Does this mean I always agree with the choices? Nope

Does this mean I always see them in the theater? Of course not

Does this mean I'm always happy with the end-product? Not even close

Does this mean I'm happy they made the movie? Absolutely

Does this mean I always want the movie to do well? You bet

Every movie that does well means they'll make more. Sometimes they get it right and when they do, it's awesome to see the heroes of my childhood (and adulthood) brought to life.

Now I'll step down off my soapbox...

BTW, I was never thrilled with Nicholas Cage as the choice for Ghost Rider, but it's clear that he and Mark Steven Johnson are big fans of the character and comics in general, which is always a good thing.

And I do plan to see it in the theaters.

I thought 'Daredevil' was an OK movie. There were some really well done parts; the radar/sonar rain on the roof scene was worth the price of admission and, in itself, positively enhanced the character in my mind.

I expect that there will be some 'That's cool!' enhancing scenes in 'Ghost Rider'.

Even Roger Corman's 'Fantastic Four' had its good points.

Everyone is having mixed reviews about this movie. sometimes, it does look cheesy, but hey, FF was cheesy and it made how much money? I heard only a few lines of GR's Johnny Blaze origin got switched around but not drastic.

Personally, I was just happy that Ang Lee or Joel Shumaker got labeled to be director. I present to you "Ghost Nipples"!

Let me say it again.......

Nick Cage = Automatic Suckage! The movie could rock... but he will cause it's failure.

From what I read. Nick Cage is a comic book freak just like the rest of us. And apparently Ghost Rider is his favorite character, too.

i saw himo n Letterman or Leno...one of those. and he said he got rid of all his comics, except Ghost Rider. That's hardcore right there.
