Well....isn't that cute... DC is jumping on the bandwagon a decade or two too late  Not to mention that the black & red 'bat-uniform' has been done before. (Remember when? and Who? Answer and you win a no-price.) Still... she looks fine to me.

Ok, personally, I hated the yellow and red 50's throwback. This black and red is good. I just hate the mask.

Maybe you don't like the mask since it's just a slight design variation on the 50's version. I have to agree that the mask doesn't work to well with the black and red.

What I'd like to know is if mainstream America will accept a out of the closet homosexual superheroine. I admire DC for having the cojones to try this in the conservitave climate our country is in these days but just like Donna Troy taking over as Wonder Woman after Diana inadvertantly kills someone or Lois Lane with a child in the upcoming 'Superman Returns' movie, it's all about challenging the audience. Unfortunately, this is the same audience who only eats at McDonald's, only shops at Wal-Mart and watches the same television shows every week so maybe they don't want to be challenged. What do y'all think?

When Northstar came out of the closet the news went nuts over it. After the news let it go. People didn't care one way or the other. I think it'll be the same way with this.

I'd say the color motif of the new costume is more a direct homage to the Mystery of the Batwoman movie costume than Batman Beyond per se.
Although Batwoman's costume in the movie was clearly inspired by Batman Beyond itself of course.

If this character isn't well written then who cares. Thats the problem with DC (and Marvel, and every other comic book company around). They come up with something cool, then it sucks after 12 issues or so.
Will she have interesting plotlines, or will it be that they will simply tie her in to what ever the hell is going on in the Batman's books. Thats what killed Nightwing for me, he would be in Bludhaven fighting against everyone, and then he would have to go off for his cross over into "Batman: The Guano Saga!" for three to five issues, and when he got back to his own plots the writers either changed or simply forgot what they were doing.

I collected Huntress for the first 6 issues, back in the 80s. It was great with just her.
Same goes for Batman. When it's just him, it's a great story. As soon as they introduce Robin, I get bored.
