In case you haven't seen the new superman costume here it is the first look.

I know a lot of people are going to start complaining about this costume, but in my opinion it looks great (maybe they could loose the scales), and Henry Cavill looks good as superman, this pic reminds me of jim lee's superman.

PD: this costume is better than brandon routh's costume

I have to ask: What?s the deal with Holloyweird this days that almost all superhero MUST wear a rubber suit looking like a football?

Other than that, I like that version of Supes better than the one from Superman returns.

It is because he is boning Aquaman.

I have to agree... Supes is not a Scaly outfit kind of dude. And I can't believe they are making another Superman movie with a new actor. I am bored. I guess I can wait until they make another movie with Superman #4 before I get the movie on Netflicks.

Poor DC... they only have 2 heroes that they can make movies about... the rest of their lineup sucks. Hell, even poor ole' Wonder Woman's TV deal fell through. Keep it up Marvel... even though your movies are sub-par... at least they are about different heros. THOR... Green Lantern... really?

I'm not 100% sold on it (The scales and the layered cape) but I agree that it looks a lot better than Brandon Routh's version.

I have a feeling that this movie isn't going to suck even with those details about the costume.

i need to rant here for a sec....

on alot of other sights around the internet people are complaining about this costume and the new spiderman costume, etc.etc.....but i feel that we should be excited that they are making the movies themselves and we aren't just stuck watching the old captain america movie or that aweful justice league movie...so the costumes don't exactly match, that doesn't mean the whole movie will suck.

I can pretty much agree there, Billy. The thing is, the diehard fans are tired of Hollywood screwing up continuity, changing costume designs to be more "modern" and revamp after revamp. Sure, I'm glad that they're making the films, but a little more attention to the details of the characters and story line that has been 5,10,50 years in the making would be nice. Of course, the difficulty in this is trying to squeeze all this into a 2 and a half hour film, and sometimes not even that long. They also target audience members that don't follow the characters and only have a knowledge of them.... sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

The result of the latter is angry fans of the comics when Hollywood gets it wrong, or so horribly wrong that there's a great deal of difficulty for the franchise to recover... example: Ang Lee's "Hulk"...what a mess, but saved by the Incredible Hulk film starring Ed Norton.

You're right Billy!...I remember I was one of those angry fans when I saw for the first time Bale's batman costume, just because I didn't liked the cape and the cowl...but when I saw the film I realized I was wrong.
