Just wondering. How long did it take you guys to learn how to use a graphic pad correctly?

a drawing tablet like a wacom? I have never learned to use one. I had one, but never fully learned it.

Ah I remember it like it was yesterday. A friend had bought me a Wacom Graphire 2 as a christmas gift. I took it home, installed the drivers, turned on photoshop.......... And holy god, my first thought was I didn't need paper anymore. Everything was so simple and self explanatory that even my 4 year old neice had no trouble using it. It literally made drawing with a mouse feel like drawing with a brick.

That is if you're referring to using a pen tablet.

How long did it take me to figure out how to use it as a digital painting/photomanipulation tool? Almost nothing.

How long did it take me to figure out how to use it to draw? I'll let you know when I've figured it out. It's definitely better than using a mouse, and is great if used in something like Illustrator which allows for fine corrections. But pencil and paper still feels more natural for freehand drawings, on the rare occasions when I do them.
