Well, Thank you Judges.

Congrats BA. Your years of experience paid off. I guess there are some advantages to being an old guy .

Your image rocked. It was fun going up against you. As soon as you challenged me I new I was in for it, but that I was going to give you a run for your money. I think I did pretty good. I am pleased with my pictures. I would duel you again at the drop of a hat, I'll get you one day It was fun.

I learned some new tricks on this one. This is what the duels are all about. Two guys going and making some great pictures. We have 4 nice new pictures in the galleries that are really top notch work and that's what it is all about.

Again Great Work BA. You Rock

Re: Run... Bok...Bok...Bok...
So my challenge letter wound up in Jr????????s junkmail box as spam eh? That????????s actually pretty funny???????depending on how you look at it???????

The stocky man in the trail-worn raincoat flipped the dust off the brim of his earthen hat. The crowds pressed in around him, churning like ocean chop and making about as much sense.
???????M0rgag3 Rated??????? ???????V1a5ra best p r I C 3 5!??????? ???????Free Ru$$ian sati11itE??????? ???????Last chance for you may ha74 already W O N!!??????? ???????Bridge for rent!??????????????
He shoved his way back on his shoulders into the press of them and drug an ???????X??????? before him in the trampled dirt with the toe of his boot. A rifle rose to his hip and fired into the air.
The crowd froze for a heartbeat at the rifle????????s report.
???????Junior!??????? He bellowed as the cacophony broke around him. ???????I????????m calling you out!???????
And then he turned, and walked away, the crowd of salesmen parting before each of his slow, deliberate steps.
The old town????????s saloon doors screeched open. An orange head popped out, haphazardly decked in a wisp of orange hair.
???????WAT???????? The little gremlin screeched as he dropped from his chair to the crowded boardwalk. ???????Shoo! Shoo! Shoo!??????? He waived the cackling sales folk off with a gnarled stick as he waddled out into the dirt street. ???????Whachuwan, losty????????
The highwayman turned, raised his rifle back down the street.
Salesmen scattered at the sight of it.
He pulled the trigger.
???????Clack!???????
And nothing.
The little gremlin????????s face-wide toothy grin quivered.
???????HA!??????? The orange man spat. ???????Nuuu bullets yoo bringin! Me show you, dumby dust-eater!??????? He began to grumble and stomp, waving his walking stick about wildly.
Storm clouds began to gather overhead as the stranger sheathed his rifle, turned, and began walking away.
???????Sho you vagrant!??????? The orange man continued foaming at the mouth, his spell slowly winding up. ???????Dare call McDEATH I tell yoo???????????????
The stranger continued walking.
???????Own town!???????
Wind rising through the stranger????????s coat.
Slow, deliberate steps.
???????Friggin bumbs!???????
Walking.
???????Sho yoo!???????
Thunder curling off the horizon.
Walking.

Time froze.

Alright, the street is set. Jr and I've agreeed on the following terms: Powergirl, any model, any pose, regular gallery (non-adult), 2-month time limit, may take any liberties with the costume so long as the judges can recognize her as "Power Girl" at a glance, 100k file size limit.

Let fly the madness.

Ok, who wants to judge this? Billy's partial (having beaten me in my last duel, my win against Jr. would up his pecking-order rank too). The rest of you 'usual suspects' are all game.

Hold on, hold on! You guys are always in such a rush that you forget the formalities. *Tsk* How uncivilized.

Charrenging Chef-VagabondEye!
Defending Chef-Jr. McDeath!

Since VE is the Challenger, Jr. gets to choose weapons. VE has breached proper ettiquette by posting his choice of weapons. Jr., you have the right to accept or decline this weapon choice, "Powergirl, any model, any pose, regular gallery (non-adult), 2-month time limit, may take any liberties with the costume so long as the judges can recognize her as "Power Girl" at a glance, 100k file size limit.". If you decline, you must choose another weapon.
Jr., since weapon choice is yours, base image choice is yours as well.

Judges:
1-Billy

You need two more. I volunteer, food and beer prices negotiable.

You still need another judge.

I'll volunteer to judge, but keep in mind that I have little to no technical knowledge, and I would just be judging on the cosmetic value of the pieces.

Not at the moment but I will later.

Huh? how does posting anonymously stop you from "seeing all the pictures?"

judges have already expressed discomfort, being critical with the work of their peers, and judging anonymous pictures (even if you know its 1 out of 2 of your friends), helps the judges feel more confidant in giving an unbiast opinion.

To vagabondeye-
Read my first post in this thread.

And I think its great that you are becoming so adept at recognizing styles. Makes you all the more qualified to simplify member's work into easy-to-understand pigeonholes such as "skin recyclers" and "paint-ons". Keep up the good work!

I leave for a few days and everyone gets all crazy on me. Actually, I have no idea what I am saying... I am suffering from a Three Day Drunk hangover and can't think. My brain is officially shut down... so... I don't think I have any real whitty stuff to say... Not yet anyway.
OK...
BB: VE is correct, I chal. him a while back but he ran to Billy for the first Duel... I think he couldn't read or was scared stiff about the challenge!

Oh, and VE... I JUST picked my base... That was funny that you posted that. Ha-effen-Ha! Now, I have two months to make all of you wonder what I am doing. I will tell you that it is a "pin up"... go figure!

I think that is all for now.

Ok big Guy here is what I mean.
You have to have a user account to post. So posting anonymously would be impossible because you would have to log in to post. Unless we created new accounts for every duel, we would know who posted it and creating new accounts would just be a waste of DB space. So I figured that by posting anonymously, you meant via e-mail or something else, since it can't be done here. No big deal.
or did you have something else in Mind?

I ain't posting anonymously... even if we were forced to. This is going to be one of my better images and i want it in my gallery. NOt to mention everyone that is familiar with my work will know it... so...

'nuff said!

Posting anonymously, isn't the answer.
So maybe it is the judging system that needs tweaking. Does anyone have any Ideas?
How about the Judges do it by secret ballot. They PM each other their vote and then one of them just puts so and so gets 1 vote and what's his name gets 2, or what ever the results are. you know what I am getting at. No reasons for their votes just the results.

I will not push the issue, as it was just an idea.
But yes Winter, I did have something else in mind. I should clarify what I meant, and fill some of the holes. This should answer questions from both Winterhawk and JuniorMcDeath.

You create 2 accounts (Like when you created the DB awards account). "Deuller 1" and "Dueller 2" JUST 2.
Before each challenge, post the passwords. you could even change the passwords each duel, but I don't think that will matter. or email the p/wds to the challengers for more security.
The duellers choose to be one or two, and post their final entry as either deuller one or dueller two. You can simply use these same accounts for all duels.
And of course, JR, after the judging is finished, you can post it as your own. or move it to your account. or whatever would be easiest.

But as I said, it was just an idea, I don't mind either way.

VE-

interesting and eloquent elaboration.

"Every artist fits into one or the other--Feel that's "pigeonholing"?

yes, frankly I do.
consider that to be the definition of the term, actually.

Although I don't imagine you meant it this way, I kinda feel that you take a somewhat "basic" veiw of what you can do with photomanipulation. But as you said, we do not know each other, and to each his own.
I just wanted to counsel a bit of care. Some people that have used photoshop for a number of years may take umbridge to their work being assessed in the same manner. Without your lengthy explanation, your intial comment seemed to reflect that sentiment. Thanks for the clarification.

Hey, that's a better Idea then I thought, Matrix.
I am beginning to like it.
I will think about it.

On a different subject.
this is for no one in particular. but lets keep the smack talk down to a min. It started out fine but I can see it going overboard. And I would hate to shut down the duels because of silly smack talk.
