Found this on YouTube yesterday. The Ryan Reynolds OFFICIAL "Green Lantern" Trailer. Now it looks promising, I see a few flaws with the CG rendering of the costumes and I pray that Ryan Reynolds won't ruin a potentially awesome movie with his poor take on a comedic styling.

Like Hawk, I'm looking forward to it as well. Costumes are redesigned in almost every comic to film I've seen so the minor changes here don't bother me much. I think Ryan Reynolds can bring both laughs and drama to the role. He's no Robert Downey Jr. but the added humor worked well enough in IM. Admittedly, Marvels's got a much better track record than DC with the adaptations but I'm holding out hope here. I'm really liking what I see in the trailer.

There's a noticable difference between Downey and Reynolds. With Downey in IM, the humor just rolls right on out, most of Reynolds' past films; "Blade:Trinity" as an example, the humor seems forced.... so it doesn't work well. I'm willing to put this one right up there with some of Marvel's latest films as "almost epic" based on the characters costume design alone.......and like Hawk, I anxiously await opening day.

My favorite aspect of the new costume design is that it kinda looks like it's a second skin that doubles as a uniform. If you look closely you can definitely make out human musculature on the suit, almost like the suit is a second set of muscles.

AWESOME SAUCE!!!!! I am so looking forward to this! I can even get past the costume changes, making Carol a pilot and, at the beginning, making Hal a man-whore like Downey [in IM]! I have a feeling this will be the start of DC's rise to movie greatness like Marvel's a decade ago.

I remember watching old episodes of the Green Hornet and can say this... not an homage, a redux with a not so funny comedian... but may be worth the viewing.
