OK, folks??????? Sorry??????? but enough is enough.
Since the first of the year it seems like we have a lot of artist that feel the need to populate the galleries with doubles and triples of their images. I, for one, can not speak when it comes to having double posts. I have a few images that I have posted because of subtle changes. I have two Bobba Fetts??????? I am about to have two Harley Quinns??????? and I have a double of a drawing I did??????? BUT I never posted them while the original was on the ???????latest listings??????? page.
I for one do not like to come to HeroMorph to see ???????work in progress.??????? I do not want to see the same image three times on the main page.
I DO want to see your pencil work??????? I enjoy seeing your pencil work. I DO want to see your manips.
I DON????????T want to see that you decided to color your pencils and post the same image five minutes later. I DON????????T want to see that you did a manip and thought you could save it with a change of background and then you post that same manip 5 minutes later.
When you post two extra images, which are on the ???????latest listings??????? page, you do kick two people off that posted just one original image. I know that after I have worked on an image, I don????????t want it booted off the main page because someone posted ???????work in progress??????? or three images that are the same but have a different background.
Now, all the work that seems to be double and triple posted is NOT crap??????? it is good art work??????? I just plead that the people that are guilty of doing this wait??????? wait until your original post has cleared the ???????latest listing??????? page before you post your next version of you work. With as many posts as HeroMorph is getting right now, you will only have to wait??????? what??????? a week before you can let us see your changes.

Or, if you want to present 2 different variations of an image (line art/colored, different backgrounds, before & after, etc), combine them in one side-by-side pic. Just watch your file size.

Optical - Thinking outside the box. Or at least JR's box. 'Cause you stick to the floor in there.

I somewhat agree, but in a couple of the cases that BB lists, in all fairness the original poster was not the colorist. I did one of them (Last One - Color Version) soon after alex posted the original. And I think the same applies to the School Girl (webgeek did the color version of alex's original).

In each of these cases I think we were attempting to alleviate alex's "I'm taking my toys and going home" frame of mind. Possibly it didn't work since he hasn't posted anything new. Oh well.

I don't know how well I qualify in this. Considering my Bolt was one of my first posts when I first joined. And there was only one coloring job done on it. I do agree on the blasting the same pic over and over before the first barely left the front page. But I don't really mind seeing it in color

OK, then... even if you are coloring someone else's image I still don't think that you should post it while the original piece is on the main page. There is something about seeing the same image over and over again when I log in that really irritates me. I think that we need a "professional" courtesy to not double post... easy as that. You like something... color it... then post it after the original is gone.

And as for Alex... if he gets pissed and leaves, let him... he will be back after he gets better... but posting 3 of his images doesn't help. Putting Lipstick on a pig doesn't change the fact that it is still a pig. Except for maybe BA... then it becomes his date.

Well, it's semantics then. I don't think it's a double post if there's something significantly different. Coloring a BW piece is a significant change. Coloring can take a long time to do. Heck, I colorized a Supergirl drawing a few weeks ago and it took me longer to do it than some manips I have done. Of course, by the time I got it posted the original had bubbled down the list a bit.

I do think it's a double post if you put a drawing up, then notice and erase a 10 pixel line and repost it 5 minutes later with a comment like "wow, look, I cleaned it up, waddaya think now?". I agree that I don't want to see this type of thing.

So what should the grace period be? Don't post a colorized drawing or a further modified one until there are at least 5 newer posts? The whole point is that you might want people to see the difference, and if the original version is way down the line then some folks aren't going to realize it was there.

And there are just some days when nothing new gets posted for quite a while and then all of a sudden there's an avalanche.

I say, enforce a 3-per-day posting limit (across all galleries) and if you want to post something over and over go ahead but you only got 3 tries that day. You'll probably do more than erase a 10 pixel line.

I think this is the part where Optical is most likely to laugh and repeat himself. So I'll beat him to the point. Using Dark Wanderer as an example, here's what he's talking about doing:
