ANNOUNCEMENT: Bold Weely Draw/off challenge moved to Heromorph

Subject: ANNOUNCEMENT: Bold Weely Draw/off challenge moved to Heromorph
by Guest on 2005/10/28 18:52:05

Because of the cowardly attack of some hacker, Bold Comics is out of commission for awhile. We will be back and better than before. The Weekly Draw/off scheduled there has to be move to Heromorph.

Rules: 1. Pencils only. No inks. No colors. No manipping.
2. Any style can be used ie. Manga, surreal, artzy- fartzy, stick figures.

The subject for the first Draw/off is Marvel Boy. This is the 1950's version. Here is a link to a picture of him:

The idea is to redesign him, give him an update for the 21st Century, make him look cool. It would be great to keep some elements in your redesign such as the flame symbol on his chest or his gauntlets, they are a source of his power, but make him how you want.

The deadline for this first Draw/off is November 15th. Following that, it will be a weekly challenge, meaning the subject will be announced on a certain day and a week later it will be due. There could be a 24 hour challenge also, depending on the challenge.

The winner gets bragging rights for that week and gets to choose the subject and content of the next challenge. For example, the winner could choose to make a superhero or villan out of household appliances. What would your refridgerator be as a superhero? Or perhaps a gender change? Whatever the winner wants.

The more people who participate the funner it will be. This is primarily for fun and practicing your pencil work. You don't have to be a great penciler, just give it a try, show off your designing skills at the very least. Most importantly have fun doing it.

Thanks to Kevin and Heromorph for allowing this Bold Challenge to be held here during this time of a minor setback for Bold.

Now get busy drawing. If you have any questions, email me.
