Those have all been done before.
How about we do something current, Election-O-Rama!
For the month of November, members - or a character they choose, run an election campaign to get people to vote for them.
(e.g. I could get people to vote for me, ChillyPlasma, or I might be the Campaign Manager to get people to vote for Wonder Woman).
People can make campaign posters, scandalous photos, forum speeches, shoutbox debates, comment bribes, whatever. Positive thing about this idea is you don't have to be an artist to take part... and if it sucks it won't happen for another 4 years.
