A photo-realistic image... you might want to clarify what your definition is. I try to do photo-realistic manips every time I create. And there is still a lot of hand painting that goes into them. So, in a sense, Chilly is completely correct. But to each their own. Some people have to have an actual body to do a manip. That is cool too!
Take for instance this image of Charlize that Bio posted....

I could make that hand work by:
1. Flipping the canvas
2. Cleaning up the hand so that it is not blurry
3. then I would use the image that you have supplied and create my own fingers (with paths) to duplicate the hand you are looking for.

I can make it happen... I am sure you could.

Using poser to get the exact pose and Franking it onto your image is not going "3D" either... it is no different than using a hand from an actual image... if you do it right, no will will know the difference.

Just a thought.
