What's whith the lack of voting on this site? A pic can have 500 hits and not a single vote. Do you have to be a member to vote? Are you all americans or just lazy like me? (joke!)
Anyway... we should all shape up and give the wonderful artist on this site some feedback.
So, to set a good example, I just voted three times today. (I'm such a goody goody two-shoes...)
And that's my two cents...

To be honest I don????????t vote because just like a real election I don????????t think it really matters. But you should feel safe in the notion that if your picks get 500 hit it pretty popular (for being really sh*tty or really nice). I for one make a point to comment though, especially if the art interest me (good or bad). If I am correct I believe I did leave a comment on one of your pictures.

Yes you did. And I thank you for it. And of course, comments are a better feedback than a vote. Though I wasn't talking about my own pics (they only have about 150 hits so far).
It did bother me a bit, howerver, when I joined this site and tried to find the best stuff through the "top list". When only 1 out of 300 voted for a pic, it's not a very reliable score.

Voter turn out is always bad.
No matter where you go, people just don't like to vote.
I vote occasionally but not regularly.
I like to make comments, alot. I find that comments are more helpful feedback.
I think using the most popular link rather then the top rated is a better way to gauge what you are looking for.

Bwa ha ha! Good one!
If U ask me, I think they re-used old votes intended for his daddy, to get enough in the recounts in Florida. Same ####, newer model, U know?

As for the main topic of the thread? I guess I stand corrected, voting doesn't work. So I'll re-phrase it:
write more comments!

GUILTY AS CHARGED!!

I'd like to gete comments and ratings on the Manips and Drawings I posted here -- but then I realized after reading your comment that I haven't voted, commented or rated here. One excuse is that my internet service (phone line) is so bad I can only stay on line about 4 minutes. But I'm going to go look at your stuff now...

I would leave more comments but sometimes it wouldn't be positive.
For e.g. I can't stand the manips that are a naked chick with a semi-opaque costume layer on top. I can appreciate the effort that goes into it but don't really enjoy the pics.
So instead of leaving a comment on a pic I will say it here and hopefully not offend anyone.

On another note I got a critique that my pics were too dark - and I totally agree.
In Paint Shop Pro I have adjusted the monitor gamma, but browsers don't account for this - making the image darker.
Does anyone else have this problem?

Well I am a ticking time bomb of fury...no wait, that's the other guy...
I'm spunky and provocative!

I Guess I'm Guilty Again!!
I took a naked model from the Adult Gallery, selected and colored the torso purple (after first smudging and manipping the body so that it would look like spandex when layered), then I put a new masked head on, then I used airbrush, then 1px line, then smudge again, then I selected and colored the gloves and boots, then I went over the edges with 1px lines, and I came up with a "quickie" after 2 hours on Adobe 3.
But I do appreciate critcism.

I will say this Furiousmax if there is something on this site that you want to comment on you should bad or good of course if it????????s bad you can be creative in how you word your critique (as not to be lampooned be other posters who might be friends of the victim that receives your criticism.

I personally very rarely visit the adult gallery (every once in a great while there is something worth looking at in that gallery) but for the most part I stay away because I share your sentiments.

I believe that this site like many others where artist can post there work for the public view suffers from too much praise and not enough critique. I plan to attach a message to my future works the basically say that I don????????t want praise (I can get that from my mother) I want honest opinions (that the only way one get better at a craft). That????????s not to say if you want to say kind things I won????????t read it but I much rather hear what you don????????t like about my work.

Just yesterday I left a post for an artist the put up a Batman picture and I stated that he made artistic choices that I don????????t understand but overall his work wasn????????t bad. Maybe this artist will take what I said into consideration on his next work or ignore my comments and say ???????I have no idea what I????????m talking about???????; either way I shared my opinion and isn????????t that what these message boards are about opinion sharing.

I for one welcome any and all critique as long as its civil in nature (as I myself have a lot to learn).
I've yet to see anybody go beyond the pale here.

Its actually a very friendly sight... probably why it might feel like there is _too_ much praise, but then again this sight seems to attract very good artists IMHO.

Im sure most feel the same way.

Please critiique away.

You want critique eh?

Well, your hairstyle is limp and out of fashion, the tune on your mobile phone is effeminate, you always hog the remote, your taste in belt-buckles is horrendous and your chicken is dry and tasteless!

oh yeah, your mother says your X-men pic is simply outstanding and you are the best manipper here.

Good ol' mom.... Thanks for the input, I'll stop letting her pick out my buckels, combing my hair and cooking my chicken.

Yeah, I think it was aimed at Cereal Killer.
Brick, your mother is finds your efforts far from erotic and is disgusted that you should be hanging out with the others on this site.

But CK, you should really change your mobile tune to a less girly one...I mean unless you're trying to signal some sort of lifestyle choice?

As commented my Spidergirl pic is again too dark. And again it's because I correct the gamma on Paint Shop Pro which can't be corrected on a browser.

Fortunately I managed to counter the darkness with my Punisher pic and saved it separately - and uploaded the 'corrected' pic here. Not going to bother messing around with the others.

How does everyone else deal with gamma? Just purposely skew it and fix pics individually if you want to print them or what?

I leave well enough alone. I don't screw with any of the gamma settings everything seems to turn out ok when viewed in a browser. Although, I think photoshop installs adobe gamma which runs in the background. Not sure what it does, I should probably look into it...
