From what I have seen and heard of The movie it looks pretty cool. I just don't like the IronMan character. and the direction Marvel has taken him during the Civil War makes me think of him more as a war profiteer and villain then I do hero.

I still can't believe that got that Hack Downey, Jr. to play Stark.
I can believe it. So he sucks and he hasn't been in anything good in a long time..... I suppose that he has the look they wanted.....oh.... and he's more than likely doing this in hopes that a blockbuster like IRONMAN will be his redemption and everybody will forget he was in rehab. Just thank GOD none of the Baldwins got the role.

could it be because paltrow in general looks like a man? i mean, really, 'she' does. but the comic con footage gave me hope that they won't COMPLETELY fuck up the movie.

Yep, JR, Tony's original secretary and love interest was Virginia 'Pepper' Potts, an extremely hot redhead in the mold of Jean 'Marvel Girl' Grey and Mary Jane 'Future Mrs. MF' Watson. I'll definately go see this one when it comes out but I only pray that it won't suck. [Notice they haven't released pics of the Mandarin yet? Not a good sign.]

The Mandarin isn't going to be the villian. The director was smart enough to admit that it would be too much to try and fit him into the first movie. The villian is Obidah Stane and the Iron Monger. (Which looks pretty sweet.) If you haven't seen the San Diego Comic Con footage go search for it on the interweb NOW!!!
I still think this looks like it's gonna be pretty sweet. Though I gotta say, I'm not all that crazy about the way Downey is 'deadpanning' Tony Stark. The sequence where he's being interviewed, I picture him being surrounded by hot women, drink in hand, and giving the reporter a grin that says, "I can tell you hate me, but I could still get you into bed...".

I was putzing through the Hollywood news and guess what? I read that Hilary Swank is going to be in the film as Black Widow.should be interesting. if she does a good enough job, you think they'll make a BW film and have Hilary as Natalia? also, Samuel Jackson is going to put in an appearance as well, though what he's doing is unknown. peace.

not a Hilary fan, are we, Jr? well, to each his own. I myself see Milla more of a Black Widow than Ms. Swank. as for the comment, I guess you agree with the Top 10 Butterface Celebrities list I put up not too long ago, especially with Hilary being number 10. of course, I imagine you think she should be higher. Samuel Jackson should be cool. I wonder if he's going to be Warblade or whoever Iron Man's sidekick is. anyway, we'll find out soon. peace out.

I think it's interesting that Nick Fury has been retconned to be black. As someone who has complete collections of "Sgt. Fury and his Howling Commandos", all of the Strange Tales appearances of "Nick Fury, Agent of Shield", and a complete run of the comic of the same name, I have pretty good recollection of Nick being caucasian.
Having said that, I think Samuel Jackson is a great actor and would do an outstanding job as Nick.
As long as they don't do "Snakes in my Armor"....
