hey all,

just putzing around and I saw on MOVIEFONE that there is going
to be a remake of BARBARELLA. that's not news. But, what is news
is that Angelina Jolie and Megan Fox are vying for the title
role. so, the question is which one is your Barbarella? I was
thinking one could be B and the other could be the Black Queen.
thoughts?

Put Megan Fox back in diapers and give her pacifier back to that arrogant little thing.

The High Priestess of Hotness, Angelina should be B, and the Black Queen? Demi Moore.

Personally I don't like either for the role. Angelina is hot, but she doesn't have the body, and is really too old for Barbarella. Fox has the body, and is vacuous enough, but has no skills. I would rather see a hottie in her 20s, who can act, in the role. Like Zoe Saldana, Jennifer Morrison, or Rachel McAdams.

I agree with Bio about these two points for sure...NEITHER. And Fox has no skills.
But mostly neither for different reasons.
Barbarella was a stereotypical dumb blonde. No offense intended. The character is written that way.
I'll leave ALL comments about Jane Fonda out of this completely.
But the character loses everything if you have an actress not known for acting stupidly portray her.
Angelina is not capable of playing a Ditz. (Good for her)
And Megan Fox, well, I don't think she's a good enough actress to play anything.
I just don't see all the hype about her in the first place, but maybe that's just me.
If you ask me, you might as well cast Jessica Simpson as Barbarella. It'd ring more true. Or Julie K. Smith. ( , put that in for you classic B movie lovers)

As for the black queen...I kinda like the Demi suggestion by Krasch, but you could go with Julie Strain and tie the whole thing together with a Battle Queen 2010: return of Barbarella motif. (Again with the B movie reference ...might as well have Andy Sidaris direct)
I most likely won't see the movie if it gets made anyway.

I agree that Jessica would be almost perfect for that role... plus I would like to see her in the Orgasmatron Machine.... er, I mean Excessive Machine

I need to rent that movie... I haven't seen it in probably 20 years.

Personally, I don't really care that Fox can't act. I never hear a word she is saying anyway because I'm too busy staring at her. She gets my vote for Barbarella or any other film. ...now I'm off to watch Jennifer's Body!

Gotta say that my spirit has always been with the original.
I'd like to see them do a digital movie with the original.
Though I'm not sure Jane would want to see her image used?

Yes, Redd's on the right path. Blond. She must be blond...or at least look the part well.
Although getting closer with Scarlet, I still feel she would have difficulty playing dumb.
Again, I cast my vote for Jessica S.

She needs to be played like Christina Applegate played Kelly Bundy.
So hey, why not Christina Applegate?
