No really, I made a character for an RPG. He used to serve in MI7 but was forced to retire, after he got a little to rough in his interrogation methods. He got his file an "pinkslip" with "Section 8" stamped across the front. He became a villain and took the name as his moniker.

nothing special about my name. I just randomly pick usernames with my name or Neo (from MATRIX) and random passwords, some with themes. if I'm on a Sailor Moon site, e.g. the password is usually one of the characters and a number. anyhoo, I like to think I rock, so Neilrok is born out of "Neil rocks". see, nothing to gossip or write home about.
Mine simply comes from basis of most of my drawings, I tend to have a very dark outlook on things at times and that spills out on paper. That I didn't want to use my C2F nickname 'cus its lame, nor my mediaminer nick cuz ...actually that one was kinda cool.

Mine is the result of a lack of originality years ago on the day I hooked up to the internet. It's just a mix of letters from my first and last names, not very significant but at least I can always remember my screen name.
I just hate adding numbers to my screennames or email addresses so I tried to come up with something to reflect my habit (netsurfing) that wasn't taken or would require numbers. I was reminded of Gary gnu and no Gnus is Good gnus or somethimg like that from some show i watched as a kid, and there you go. Gnetsurpher! With a ph instead of f, because... um...... because ph IS the new F, as in phat! Ok, that works.
Actually, I didn't choose it, when I signed up with YAHOO and joined the it was the alias that was assigned to me whe I joined SuperHeroine Eroctica (go figure)
I've been riding motorcycles for half my life. I used to collect robots back in the 80's when all the cool Japanese robots first started showing up in the States. Never had a character with that name, though. Unless you count myself.
Mine comes from my website and the fact that every other name I thought up was already taken. Optical Intrusion was a play on Optical Illusion. Because, you know, Wolverine66987 was already taken.
(I've never been satisfied with ANY user name I've had.)

I was wondering after our conversation about this very thing when you were going to post this question? Well mine came from after many times trying to register a user name on some other site,where as my own name was used & other forms of it too? I was looking about the room to find a name & looked down at my Dragon Shirt (to which I have many!) & combined it and my own name ! I now use it alot on other sites too!
Um.. quite honestly I dont know. I'm loath to sign up for anything on the internet since so much of it gathers grief... but I couldnt resist the temptation to try this photomaniping thing. I picked a name out of thin air, posted my first pic, and lo-and-behold, I was hooked. So Im stuck with my silly 'tryout' name and I'm sticking with it still... Simple, monosyllabic... Its like butter!
(only its not as tasty on toast.. and um.. butters not monosyllabic).
