Wow. One of the greatest fantasy girls of my childhood. I guess she'll be parking her Batbike in the heaven parking lot from now on. She'll be missed.

First Yeoman Janice Rand,
Now Marta...
Two of the sexiest TV Trekkers of that era...
Two of the nicest people, too.

Grace Lee Whitney frequently took the time throughout her life to visit, write and even call her fans on the phone personally...just to talk to them and say "Hi."

Yvonne Craig devoted time to equal pay for the genders and sponsored free mammogram programs. She said in one interview that one of the reasons she left acting was since she wasn't a mother herself, she didn't feel she could portray mother characters in auditions well enough.

Both obviously starred in Trek...
But both were also amazingly talented in other areas.

"Yeoman Rand sings" was a tape released on which Grace showcased her vocal talents from songs she had written and performed for various episodes...and in her early years she actually opened for such acts as Billie Holiday and Spike Jones.

Yvonne was a super talented dancer who actually toured with a Ballet company before acting.

Both were born and grew up in the midwest-
Grace in Ann Arbor MI, and Yvonne in Taylorville IL before moving to Columbus OH.

And I could go on and on...but suffice it to say, both were super human beings that will be missed.

She and Lynda Carter were the 2 main reasons I got set on this geeky path as a wee lad. I was lucky to get her autograph at a con a few years back. God speed, angel.
