I thought it'd be fun to get a thread going where we artists and collectors make a confession of our early days of collecting or early days of being an artist. Doesn't necessarily have to be "early days" either. So...I'll go first...
When I was about 13, just breaking into comic book collecting, my cousin gave me a pretty large stack of Conan and Hulk books from his collection. As I was reading them, I noticed the Editor's Notes and some of the editors shared my cousin's name. My thought process was "Why is his name in this book? Well... it's mine now," and I would take a pen, mark out the name, and write in my own. It wasn't until years later that I figured out these names were those of the editors. I willfully altered these books, ergo, decreasing their value. smh

Ohhhlets see what I can dig up. I remember when My brother and I bought TMNT (Archie Comics Run) I would bag mine and read his, keeping mine mint and letting his go less than pristine:)
