I see that you're using my Gen X manip as the header for the front page. Did someone try and ask me about that? I changed my emails recently so it could have gone astray. Nothing in my Heromorph inbox though.

Anyway, since it is being used, any chance of a credit or link to the manip itself on the header? I don't mind it being used, but since it wasn't created for the site itself it'd be cool to get an acknowledgement that it's not the work of the site admin at least.

Over 2 years ago I pm'ed almost every artist at HM and made an announcement in the forums basically telling every member here that if you post your art here, we will use it to decorate the site by using it in themes, banners, smilies, avatars or what ever else we saw fit. Since the nature of these decorations, it would be impossible to credit every artists.

But since you have an issue with this long standing rule, I have removed the theme from the rotation.

Oh man, I actually liked the random themes.

I am really surprised, this is the first time we ever had some one not over-joyed with there image used for site decoration. I find it funny that it was that themes first night as a default theme and Bwammo it is gone. it didn't even get a day.

Maybe get this thread itself to be the starting point for the artist to give a shout out and say "I did this". Just a thought.

I myself would love my work to be chosen to be cover art. I see though the part where Angelophile was asking about perhaps linking the original. I don't think it was a complaint.

I just asked if there was a way when the pic is used, you can click the banner and it pulls up the full size manip so you can see who did it. or a name on the image itself for the same purpose.

If not, fine.

I do think it'd just be polite if you ARE using someone's art as a theme, to just drop them a PM informing them of the fact so it's not a surprise, or giving them a chance to opt out if they want to.

But I didn't anywhere ask for the theme to be removed. I'm not sure where you got that from.

I can understand your feeling here, Angel. An image of mine was used for the theme also without my permission.I however looked at it as a compliment and a tribute to my work rather than as plagerizism or invasion of privacy. By becoming part of an HM theme you become a cornerstone of the site and a honored member.

I just think it'd be nice for people viewing the site AND the artist to just get a name on whatever image is used, if nothing else, so people can see who it's by and look at their galleries if the fancy takes them.

That seems pretty simple.

It's nice to have your work recgnised, but if no one know who it's by, it's not much in the way of recognition.

Did you take the pictures that you manipped?

Did you post them on the site making them public domain?

Did you know that there is a rule on the site saying if you post an image here you are allowing us to use it to promote the site/awards/and decorations? It has been that way for a very long time. ( I do not feel like looking it up because frankly I do not care, but in the rule threads somewhere is a post talking about banners and themes, asking people to post a message if they do not want to take part. Since joining the site and clicking yes that you agree to and will read all of the site rules and that you will follow them, I am sure you have read this post.)

That is why it was used, that is why no message was sent.
And now that is why it was removed. For not making a post in around a year then making 2 passively aggresive posts about the same thing makes the point. your image is no longer being used.
