yes, kiddies,

it's official! Speed Racer is coming to the big screen!
I saw it last night in one of the movie magazines. the
Wachowski(?)Brothers are writing it and it starts filming
next summer for a summer '08 release. cool, huh? Mach
5 enthusiasts rejoice!

That sounds like it has the potential to be an amazing movie, or an amazing flop. Either way it will be cool to see a real Mach 5.

Let's just hope they have a good story writer!

I can't think of the movie without remembering the fast paced cheezy talking they did in the cartoon. I see a flop in the works.

Uhm... what else have they done. OH, thats right... that is ALL they have directed and they are all Top quality movies(note the sarcasm) that I will NEVER see again and I still wish I had my 9 hours back from the matrix trilogy. Jeezus. What a whip. Which brother decided that it would be a good Idea to kill Neo... That is not how you end a 9 hour trilogy.

The only thing they have made, that they really didn't have anything to do with, that was halfway decent was The Animatrix.

So yeah, a Speed Racer done by those two jacksticks is going to be a huge turd. Suck fest. Sh!t sandwich. I think you know what I am saying... it is going to SUCK!

I agree with Jr on this whole heartedly. The cartoon was painful to the ears as a kid. The soul reason I watched it was because Racer X was a bad ass. It's sooooooooooo bad, in fact, that years later I would discover my neice watching Power Puff girls, hear the voice of Mojo JoJo, and think "Dear God, not again" Having the Whatchamapoopsky brothers makes no difference to me. As Jr said, I can't see how you kill the main character after all that. Hell, I skipped Dune Messiah just because they talked about killing Paul Mau'dib. So sorry to sound like a Jr clone, but :puts on Jr hat and breaks out megaphone:

well, anytime you make a movie out of a comic
book or TV show, there is always the chance of
it sucking. case in point, DUKES OF HAZZARD. only
reason to own it is Jessica in tight cutoffs. so,
will the SPEED RACER movie suck. probably, but it
also may be good, so let's wait and see.
