Hi everyone, Welcome to the Heromorph Superhero Smackdown 2. Round one.

This year we have another Smackdown. Just like last year, the event of the summer. This will be an ongoing event were you make the art that forms the story. This will be a ongoing event where everyone can get involved.

What we are going to do is have fun making images to go along with a fictional Superhero game show. Think a cross between Amazing Race, Fear Factor, and survivor on steriods with superheroes and villians.

Where do you come in... Well to start we need people to start signing up and give the name of the superhero that they would like to be for the start of the contest.

you can pick any character that you want including original HM characters (except Lady Heromorph, as she is the host). If picked a character that belongs to another member of heromorph please ask permission first. Characters do not have to be comic book characters. Once a character has been chosen they are gone, only one version of the same character is allowed. so join in fast before your character is taken.

After you sign up you will have to do a image of the character you have chosen. for round 1 the image will be a pin-up. Post the image anytime during july. Put Superhero Smackdown 2 in the title. and post it in the superhero smackdown sub-gallery. As mentioned the first image is a just a simple pinup.

Each month or so a new chapter for the script will be drafted and each artist will be given a sneak preview of the script containing their character parts and must do a image of their character for the monthly highlights article. The final script will not be finished until the images are in, also the participants can add to the final script themselves make alliances and effect the outcome of other participants be what they put in their images (ie. captions and text is welcome in the images).
We are going for humor and a good time for all. Images can be made in anyway you want to make them.
each round will have a different deadline and the deadlines will vary in length of time but will not be less then a month. Artists are also welcome to team up together or do multiple images for any one month. Both regular and adult images will be welcome. Images promotting other websites will not be excepted.
The monthly highlight article will be posted in the fan fiction section.

the only real way to get eliminated is to not do a picture. also any picture you create for the smackdown must have your own character in it.

Also Please note, the majority of this years lady Heromorph images will be done by 2006's Artist of the Year! The Amazing Android!!!!!

I'm a bit confused by the directions though; Is the pin-up due by the end of July?

I'll throw my hat into the ring with my "Super Ultra Amazing Fight Fight Guy!" I hadn't planned on doing anything with him and I intended him to be something of a joke anyway.

Going to try my hand again this year as well. Will be stretched a little thin because of the comic I am working on. But I think I will go with my Own Oni Kataki.

Not sure if I will take part yet, but I have some advice for newcomers.
Don't choose a popular or well-known character, as this makes it easier for other competitors to use your character in their images - then they have mroe control over your character.

The more images you do the more control you have over your character and what happens to them. It's obvious Poser users have an advantage in speed. Manip and other artists might want to start now and half-finish some images that could be used for different purposes later.
You could get your 1 image finished each month (or however often) but you might find close to the deadline your character has been killed (or something) and you need a new image to bring them back to life!

But newcomers get on board! It's all good fun and you don't need to be a good artist, just use humour and clever story-telling.

Okay count me in. I will make me a green Stormtrooper and go as the Shrektrooper!!!! Quake with fear, all you Rebel scum!!! BTW guys, I made ti home and am having a blast so far!!

Count me in too. Instead of sticking with tried and true Wonder Woman, I'll go with Hawkwoman...eh, Hawkgirl. (It's a "Crisis of Generation!")

Figure that I will give it a shot! Going with Captain Marvel! Now, do I have to narrow down which Captain Marvel and from which universe??

Oh, but not the Blue Beetle you expect! My character is the evil "Mirror, Mirror" Blue Beetle from the parallel dimension shown in "I Can't Believe It's Not The Justice League"!

I've decided to have a go too. I'll be playing, if that's okay, Nova the Human Rocket BUT it'll be an adapted version of the present costume. Give me a chance to do a few "interesting" things with other characters.

Ok, going with Captain Marvel from the Marvel Universe. I'll go with Genis-Vell as Captain Marvel!

I, regretfully, must withdraw from "Smackdown II" before It really begins.
A new monster project at work will require all my time, and most of the sanity I have left.
I am sad, and the TICK is sad. Participating meant a lot to me as it would have forced me back to the drawing board.
