Okay, maybe a clue; And HP might even mean Hit Points but it could be Hemerroid Preperation, and EXP may mean Embrace Xenobiotic Preference instead of Experience Points. With these guys, I just don't know!

At this point I just want to know that there will be some point to all of it. Because loading a couple of hundred extra objects on each forum page is slowing HM down for me and if there is never going to be a reason for them to be here they may as well disappear and speed things up.

Fine... Buncha wimps HP is determined by your average posts per day. MP is determined by your join date related to your post count. EXP goes up each time you post, and when you get to 100%, you gain a level and the EXP drops to 0 again.* I actually had to go look this up in the read me file that came with the forum because I had no idea either

While these may be interesting to some, one thing I noticed since they came online at this site is that the loading of the forum discussions takes a while. I see at the bottom of my browser as it counts down from some 200-400 items to load, depending on the length of the discussion.
While it doesn't take a really long time, some with slower connection speeds may find it slow enough to just not read anything, rather than have the load however many items it takes to just open that discussion page.

Can the points be used for anything?
I was imagining some kind of online combat game... Your HP would be determined by the number of comments made. Weapons available to a player would be determined by images posted. More images would equate to more weapons/ammunition, but more popular images would exist in the game as more powerful weapons.
Tutorials and fan fiction would be special tools like stealth cloaks or something.
Hmmm, can you imagine the battles?

I think the 200-400 items to load might be a problem with your browser and/or computer. My PC loads 3 items. one small gif file for each of the color bars and does not slow anything down even a little.

I think the HP/MP/EXP is kind of fun. And it doesn't seem to slow down my loading of a page much. (Maybe a few seconds)

Depending on which browser is being used, there are settings that can either help solve (or cause) some the image loading problems. For example you can have your browser set to refresh all content every time you visit or refresh a page, which is bad for HM because of the reptitious images used on the site (all those smilies, avatars, pictures of Lady HM, etc.). Of course you might just have a sucky internet connection, or a sucky hard drive with little space for image caching, or a sucky clock speed, or your computer might just be sucky in general.

Well, my sucky connection is 5 Meg Cable, my sucky HD is 90 Gigs about half full, and my sucky computer is a Core 2 Duo, 2.16 GHz, 2 G Ram, 512 nvidia vid card. I run IE 7, all up to date, and thankfully still run Win XP, also up to date.
